Logan Henderson is funny because he was the best pitcher in baseball without a rotation spot for about a year there. Brewers pitching depth just had him stuck in AAA. The Priester and Woodruff injuries mean he's finally getting a longer run in the rotation.

Most don't really have a thesis or do any analysis. They're just a retelling of events. Even I can be guilty of this at times if I'm not careful. Makes it all the more sweeter to actually find a good one to watch.

@JaguarGator9NFL @dead_baseball If you were to review seventh grade essays, I bet a lot of them wouldn't seem higher than second grade level.

@FoolishBB @dead_baseball Heck, even the average grad essay or assignment isn’t particularly cogent I was a TA for one of my classes in my Masters program, and we did a ton of peer reviewing in other classes. Some of the stuff legitimately didn’t seem higher than a seventh grade level

@AlaricTsoni Some audiences tend to watch content about things they aren't familiar with (video games they never played, movies they never watched, etc.) whereas I like to watch videos about things I've already experienced. So when the "essay" is just exposition, I learn nothing.

@FoolishBB I remember I had an "analysis" of Expedition 33 on in the background while I was at work and after like 10 minutes I realized the guy was literally just summarizing the plot, *very* slowly

@yaboi9892 This is a good point. I think Youtube incentivizes giving the audience a lot up front so they don't click off in the first few seconds.

@FoolishBB There is an art to making someone buy into a concept but not giving them everything at the start. Your week ohtani video is a good example of that

@dead_baseball They definitely are. I read enough of my peers' work (especially those not majoring in the humanities, but taking required humanities courses) in college to know that the average undergrad essay isn't particularly cogent. And it's probably gotten worse since COVID and AI.

@FoolishBB I think this person is being very generous to undergrads. I recently contacted a professor about getting enrolled in a class with Bud Selig as a guest lecturer and sent him one of my videos. The professor said "this is better than 99% of the research papers in this class."

Really upsetting trend around the league. I almost don't want to bring it up. But it appears, and I take no pleasure in reporting this, that if you HANG-eliers... (gulps) Oh no Bailey don't chicken out now. Well, if you HANG-eliers, he'll BANG-eliers. It's an uncomfortable truth.
