@Dean_y_ Dyers view is not the only view. Many support their local teams, many don't. Not sure there's a strict rule about this. Especially when the game is global.

Danny Dyer’s point about supporting local football teams is correct, the team exists to represent a local community. It’s why having local players is always special. As a scouser it is different supporting liverpool than if I was from London or another country even

@DPBrereton93 @cfc_ar1905 Global game. Many support their local teams. Mandy don't. It's never ever bothered or worried me. If I see a Man City fan who's grown up I. London, I shrug my shoulders and go about my day.

@cfc_ar1905 Most generational migrants don’t have any loyalty to local areas so they just glory hunt.

God could you be anymore self absorbed? I’m not a scouser & I understand his point, it isn’t the same feeling/experience if you don’t live in the city, I see it in Newcastle it’s different when you’re a scouser or a Geordie etc. You don’t get it, because you won’t get it.

What about if you’re a refugee and you didn’t grow up with your dad? This idea that you should support ya local doesn’t work if you come from an unstable home, move around a lot, and your family can’t afford to take you to a football game. The game is bigger than this sorry Dan

@ItsBigZuu How convenient - you just happened to fall across and support the most successful club in English history. What are the chances?

It’s called occupation and bloodless conquest. English people are White. British people are the English Scottish Welsh and northern Irish under the act of union in 1707. Wait until you find out that everything you ever thought is a complete lie. We never wanted this. Post WWII Britain has sought to replace us with a communist, borderless, nationless world order—our people are living through silent psychological warfare.

AFCON lost all of its credibility tonight. The tournament we love is dead.

🚨 HAITI 🇭🇹 TEAM IS OUT!!!! 🚨 2 new additions and there’s a BIG one! Wilson Isidor (Sunderland) officially has been called up! Been a long time coming for the big man. Our other debutant is 25 yr old centerback Delentz Pierre (FC Tulsa). Mignè stays loyal to his usual call ups and that’ll disappoint some who were hoping for maybe Gorby. But it is far too late to be experimenting too much so I’m happy with this squad 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹

@Andrewinsussex @MikeMedFly Insurance is being underwritten by UAE Gov. No one else would touch this. Insurer of last resort I suspect All it takes is one stray drone

@MikeMedFly It really will be the end of the DXB project if th Iranians get lucky just once with an A380 and that doesn’t bear thinking about. Credibility could be achieved with a defined pause - stop/start multiple times a day can’t go on - and how is the insurance risk here?

@Toryscott Yep. There must be back channel talk between UAE - Iran but even then...it's a matter of time before something catastrophic happens.

@MickyJnr__ And yet we insist on the 2 yr cycles. Afcon doesn't encourage smart legacy planning.

🇦🇴 Estádio Nacional do Chiazi 🏟️ Once hosted 2010 AFCON battles: • Ivory Coast 0–0 Burkina Faso • Ivory Coast 3–1 Ghana • Mali 3–1 Malawi • Ivory Coast 2–3 Algeria (QF) Today? Left to turn into a forest. 😢 Shocking how some African countries can’t maintain historic stadiums. #AFCONwithMicky #AfricanFootball

@davidpick1987 @jamiebsmith Disruption is the new normal. There will no return to the old way until hostilities cease. I'm not sure anyone (even the USA) has a clear idea on what / how this will be achieved. Dubai has managed this well as can be in their credit.

@jamiebsmith Yeah I’m hearing of less and less. They brought forward their school holidays until it calmed down which has delayed her job offer a little but it’s all sounding promising.

Having been in DXB all week it’s very much bouncing back. Safety protocols are still being very strictly adhered to for everyone to stay safe and moving in these cautious times.
Kaartik Gor@KaartikGor

Air traffic in UAE is bouncing back, with 7,839 flights recorded in just 12 days and around 1.4 million passengers served across UAE airports. Operational capacity has reached 44.6%, showcasing a resilient aviation system and the UAE’s proven ability to tackle challenges 🇦🇪

@garyalsmith @CAF_Online Doesn't all of these give credence to the 4 year cycle? My honest opinion is its going to provide some stability and less cancellations

A week ago today, @CAF_Online postponed WAFCON. Sadly, such news is no more news. Since 2010, CAF has pstpnd or cancelled NINE major tournaments: ✅️ AFCON '21, '23, '25 pstpnd ✅️ WAFCON '20 cancelled ✅️ WAFCON '24, '26 pstpd ✅️ CHAN '20, '22, '24 pstpd [Thread🧵]

@jamiebsmith What do you expect? BA needs certainty (it's not a state backed entity). Let's read the room, it seems people are preparing for a prolonged period of uncertainty. After, aircrafts moving through potentially tricky environments need certainty

Back after 4 days to say we don’t be back until ‘later in the month’ with AUH postponed until next season. While Emirates have managed 12 departures to the UK today. Shocking Glad my friend didn’t listen to my initial advice of ‘wait, they’ll be back soon’ and booked on Emirates.
