Making lilep hug the touchline or mayo play 9 completely kills their threat These type of wingers are good in utilising the spaces created by the main striker (box dominant 9 ) they have great technique and eye for goal from the edgs of the box coming in from wing unmarked

This is why player profiling is vital .Being able to identify player’s strengths your player’s strengths and setting up your best players in their best positions Best example is the lilepo/mayo type of wing player High goal threat , very good technically not so great on 1v1s

Not many will see the quality in Khanyisa Mayo for as long as we remain coachless.📝 We risk losing him in July because his impact since joining us has been underwhelming. However, context matters. He was profiled as a number 9 to our Kaze and Khalil, yet everything about his game suggests he struggles when deployed centrally in our current setup. They can't see this because they are incapable of seeing beyond what they are told. Our poor profiling of players with the current coaching staff is limiting our ability to maximize the strengths of our players, especially in attack. In this team, Mayo’s best role is out wide, where the expectations are not only goals, we allow him to show us his creative side. Use Mayo at right wing, and you will unlock his quality. Give him a little bit of confidence, maybe in the future he will give you something at CF, not now. He has been with us for over 6 months, and there hasn’t been a single game where he has looked like a consistent goal threat as a CF. As a CF, he doesn't give you any good movement, no runs behind, no hold-up play, he's just ineffective. That role simply does not suit his attributes. Right now, even a match-unfit Du Preez offers more centrally. Mayo is not making a better impact than what Naledi Hlongwane can give us in that position. We are actually closing space for a deserving player. We are damaging Mayo’s confidence and, in the process, limiting our own attacking potential by persisting with him at CF. Play him wide, or we will lose him before we ever see his true quality in Gold and Black. ❤️✌🏾

Thomas Tuchel: “At the moment, if we keep the structure, they [Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, and Harry Kane] cannot play [together]. Especially in the number ten position, if you think about Phil who could play there, if you think about Jude, you think about Morgan Rogers, who played fantastic for us in this position. You have Cole Palmer, you have Morgan Gibbs-White, so there’s a lot of players, and there’s the chance that we will not take everyone [to the World Cup]. I think he [Phil Foden] can play the nine, he can play the ten. It gives him, first of all, an advantage to compete for both positions. For Man City, he plays almost like an eight, ten, so maybe during the next months we consider him as an eight.”

The Netherlands squad features strong strikers like Cody Gakpo (Liverpool, 3 goals in recent Nations League), Joshua Zirkzee (Man Utd), Brian Brobbey (Ajax), and Wout Weghorst (Ajax). Depay (Corinthians) is still key, tying the all-time Dutch goal record at 50. "Better" is subjective—Gakpo's form stands out, but Depay's experience shines in qualifiers.
