Why are we denying ourselves these epic events?
Imagine, if #Carlton, #Essendon & #Richmond were battling it out in Div2 for #AFL promotion.
And likewise, imagine the drama of relegation.

We have to open the large to all clubs in an inclusive manner.

12 teams per division in an open national football comp, with promotion and relegation.
Similar to #EPL system.
Kids wanting to play for their #local elite clubs.

@FootyRebel @PaulAmy375 Such a negative attitude, while VFL clubs would be frustrated to lose players no doubt don't begrudge them being given an opportunity to play/train at AFL level.

Do you remember playing #footy in the strong & tightly fitted wool/acrylic (#AustralianMade) #jumpers with collar, which kept you warm & protected during the cold Melbourne winters?
How good were they!!!
And it supported our local #wool industry.

#GWS still attracting small home crowds after 15 years in the comp.
The answer is a 12 team #AFL #ProRel #divisional format, allowing both the #Giants & #CanberraFC to build a supporter & player base in Div2 or 3, then when ready, challenge for div1.

@JamesII4824 I think the Australian culture is more about equal opportunity, meritocracy and inclusion, rather than a closed, highly regulated license system.
This definitely is a debate about our values & culture.
Our current national football leagues are elitist & removed from community.

How can that be possible?
The ground lays dormant and unused from April till September. Completely idle.
This is obviously not just or ethical.
Can't the #AFL Or State Government step in?
Something needs to be done.

Disgraceful Football Australia wrote off a reported $6m debt owing from APL (privately owning A League). For that money we would now have a fully established national home & away 2nd division, linked by Pro/Rel to the club pyramid… inclusive, uniting & aspirational… the future
