I had an absolute blast at the #TFTParisOpen! Between this and Vegas, I have been continually reminded how special this scene is. The friends I’ve made, the new faces I get to meet, and the genuinely involved devs / staff make me incredibly grateful and motivated to be around. There’s truly nowhere else I’d rather be! That said, I’ve been quieter in the scene the past few years due to work. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to engage again in a way that’s sustainable and meaningful for me. While tournament organizing is where I got my start, my focuses + drive have shifted, and this weekend helped solidify how I can be more involved. Heading into 2026, I want to focus on two things: 1. Charity work - Giving back has been important to me for a long time (shout-out @pallz / @palacechalice) and TFT has one of the most caring, thoughtful communities I know. This feels like the perfect combo to make some real impacts in others' lives. 2. Accessible, non-competitive events - Competition will always be the spectacle/pinnacle, but TFT is also an amazing casual strategy game. With amazing people like @Boyses21 and @HybridMario leading the competitive side in the community, I’d love to help more casual players get value and joy out of just playing. For that second goal, keep an eye out this week for a first test run of something I’ve been working on 👀 Again, I’m incredibly thankful for the friendships I’ve made and hope I can give back some of the love I’ve received. Check out my photo dump from Paris below!

Man this is the first tft set i actually don't enjoy playing. Once i got over the whole thematics of the Set which was a huge seller of this Set. Made me realize how many things feel like a step back gameplay wise and didn't take into account previous issues from prior sets.

I spent three days with the Lead Dev of Set 15, K.O. Coliseum (@TFTSloan) , and here’s what I learned: They aren’t playing it safe. After 14 sets and lots of experiments, it would be easy to settle in and stick to the script: simple traits with good verticals and solid splash units. But that’s far from the case this set. We’re getting fun new traits, new ways to hit prismatic traits, unique abilities, new mechanics, and so much more. Sloan and the team are willing to innovate and challenge what we expect from a typical game of TFT. This set is the most visually appealing of all time. Even the anime shader alone makes the design pop, but they didn’t stop there. The flairs on the UI, the fight sign at combat start, and the top-four podium are all great touches that lean fully into the anime theme. They’ve also put a ton of effort into making each ability feel special and flashy, bringing a rewarding feeling to every single cast. They’re listening. Prismatics have been frustrating, often enabled by Wandering Trainer and Trainer Golem, so they’re changing how they’re accessed in this set. Last set felt a bit uninspired and had a lot of reprints; this set feels completely original and pushes forward with purpose. Mana has caused plenty of bugs and has always been somewhat nebulous, especially when it comes to taking damage, so they’ve revamped the roles to make the rules clearer. The revamped roles won’t even be noticed by most players. When playtesting the new set, Sloan said many people didn’t feel any difference. But it brings a lot more clarity for new players and makes positioning more intuitive. (RIP frontline Kog’Maw.) They want TFT to be understandable for new players yet engaging for over 1,000 games. Can someone load in and gather enough information to put together a decent board using only the in-game tools, while still having room for depth and nuance? Can there be high skill expression but a low barrier to entry? I think they’re constantly wrestling with these questions, and I believe this set is the first time they’ve truly nailed it. This set might be the most flexible of all time. We asked Sloan if Trait Tracker was going to be in the new set, and he said, “No, because it would be too easy to activate.” Set 15 has the most two-piece traits ever, allowing boards to form crazy, rewarding trait webs and giving players lots of room to cook. The art and engineering teams are truly GOAT status. This level of design and the pure number of additions and elements to this set especially is ONLY possible because of the work these teams put in. Sloan was quick to credit the backend teams as the real heroes of TFT, putting in countless hours and never shying away from a challenge. These unsung heroes are the engine that keeps TFT running.

I don't want to waste my opportunity to capture the story of @BoxBox bootcamp, so I will be drawing a representation of every game during the 14-day competition. 🧑‍🎨 This will be a fun way to keep up with the up and downs of the set and have a physical way to remember it. 🔽
