In a crowded competition, Emma Cook, would have to be the worst editorial cartoonist in NZ. Not only is everything relentlessly left wing propaganda but she can’t even draw a caricature - when you’re having to label who it is, is an admission of failure.

@NZ_Trav There’s a lot of corporate cowardice and risk aversion in civil defence particularly from the Police; stopping ambulance officers while someone bled to death, blocking Army Unimogs rescuing people from flooding (thankfully ignored), etc

"Forty-seven people were on the island when the eruption occurred on 9 December 2019, shooting steam, ash and hot rocks into the air. Twenty-two people died while the remaining 25 were all injured, many suffering severe burns. Dispatch orders from the national air ambulance service deemed landing on the island too dangerous, but a group of commercial helicopter pilots went anyway. Over the course of 40 minutes, the efforts of the commercial helicopter pilots and crew resulted in 20 casualties being found on the crater floor, with 12 injured people being flown to the mainland by helicopter. Eight of the deceased were repositioned so their bodies could be recovered later. Of the 12 people helicoptered out, 10 died. The chief executive of helicopter company Kahu NZ, Mark Law, received the insignia of the New Zealand Bravery Star, for an act of outstanding bravery in a situation of danger. Law was the first to land on the island and was later joined by his crew Tom Storey and Jason Hill. But while alone, with acidic air present, Law put on a gas mask and waded through shin-deep ash to locate 20 people in the crater. Law told RNZ it was pleasing people were being recognised for stepping up and having a volunteering spirit in a time of crisis. "So to be recognised for that act is great and I hope it's a bit inspiring for a lot of others that no matter what happens and who says what or what rules are in place, just get out there and do it." - RNZ reporting rnz.co.nz/news/national/…

Well that's that question answered. Looks like this machine is a permanent fixture of Whakaari/White Island. Geoff Mackleys video seems to be quite recent. Google Earth image from 2023.

The Government Budget is a big document that can sometimes be hard to understand. Here are 4 numbers you should know to understand where we are as we enter the final stretch of this Governments term.

We can't repost @NzFubar, but unlike others, he's actually got the receipts for a NZF plant. And apparently, I'm not an everyday Kiwi. Buyer beware, and all that.

@michaelwoodnz @Pazienza82 Thank you, an excellent analysis of the budget, hope you are re-elected to serve all peoples unlike the current govt, aka, the coalition of cruelty who are a bunch of self serving deluded elites working hard for themselves & further dividing the people along the have & have nots.

Happy Russian Strategic Bomber Go Fuck Yourself Day! A year ago on this day, we all had the privilege of observing the Spiderweb — one of the greatest covert operations of all time. And this was just one of countless examples of the extraordinary heroism and ingenuity Ukrainians have displayed in this war against a vastly superior military superpower, in order to save their country from destruction.

@NZ_Trav Someone found a term on the internet that he thought would make sound more intelligent, like the idiot NZ journalist talking about “carpet bombing” in Iran

@AllenSutton73 @bobble05132522 Yeah however in this case there was the insistence that precedence given to the language that less than 5% speak and fewer actually use it in normal day to day communication

Has this bilingual crap of 94 different road signs by "wanker kotahi" been binned by the coalition, or are they slipping this through? Because I don't remember any public consultation

@bmwhocking @PronouncedHare Disruption is a power cut, slip, road closure not the fucking government shutting you down from weeks on end and sending the Police or MBIE Inspectors around to enforce it and prosecute

@Ford_4000 @PronouncedHare The full quote was on point. NZ Businesses do have a history of being very under capitalised and under financed, making them vulnerable to disruption. One of the many reasons we should invest more national wealth into businesses & not into property.

I would never vote with them. Mostly they’re good people though. Deborah Russell I know from Palmy and she’s both very smart and a warm person. Palmy’s MP Tangi Utikere has been a longstanding servant of the city with great respect for his constituents, including of course those who didn’t vote for him. Kieran McAnulty and I have a mutual friend and we were both went to the froend’s wedding. He was genuinely a bit of a laugh riot. Chris Hipkins inherited a government that he was a top leader in but it still wasn’t his legacy he had to run on. We certainly look on his ministerial tenure with more scepticism now but in the thick of it The Labour Party whether you support it or not is a storied organisation that, while alternating in office, has contributed to our shared national story in ways that have mostly been moderate rather than revolutionary. They’re all just people with their own hang ups and biases like the rest of us. In my view, they’re more wrong than right on contested issues but they’re still just people mostly doing their best for the common good in accordance with their own perspective. And part of the democratic process is that power needs to alternate with some frequency to ensure no large constituency feels that they have to work outside the system to make their case.

I do not respect the left wing people or parties in the New Zealand government.

What I'm finding on X is that some people like @TheNzRocketeer get uncomfortable when someone new starts getting traction. I'm 100% in the waka of New Zealand First. Why? Because this election is about sovereignty, economic growth, common sense, and putting New Zealanders first. I'm not interested in the old left-versus-right game. I'm interested in taking New Zealand forward and making sure everyday Kiwis have a voice. It's time to take our country back. If people can't handle a construction worker, that says a lot about their weak mindset and the echo chamber they live in. The everyday Kiwi is waking up, and some people don't like it. Me rongo.
