@robertrea We need a WhatsApp group for this. Currently on holiday and fully intend to spend our last night watching Traitors....

@ForenClinPsych Lol and I are devotees and insist that neither of us can watch it separately. Also it takes us about 2 hours to watch each episode because we continually have to pause it to tell each other our latest theories

Celebrity Traitors. It shouldn’t work. Celebrity versions of shows like this usually suck. The US version was abysmal. And yet… it’s sublimely brilliant. How? The casting? The production? Claudia? All of this and more? Whatever. Hooked

UPDATE: So far... 1. Detectorists 2. Motherland 3. Car Share 4. Not Going Out None of which I think will be regarded as classics in future but fair shout all the same. It had £79bn in revenue to make four half decent comedies in 15 years. I suggest that's not good.

@DrCalumMiller @Zolcanra @charliekirk11 ‘It’s torture for me. I see my daughter breathing on a ventilator, but she’s not there,’ Adriana Smith’s mother says. There's no dignity for her, no consideration of the familys feelings, inc her young son, and no thought about how this will affect the baby if it even survives.

A woman in Georgia is being kept on life support so that the child she is carrying can come to term and be born. I was asked about this case while in Britain. Apparently, people thousands of miles away are scandalized this is happening. I'll admit that I am completely baffled as to what the controversy is here. Literally none of the arguments typically offered by pro-abortion advocates apply here. There is no threat to the mother's life or health — the mother, Adrianna Smith, is tragically already brain dead. There is no threat to her personal autonomy. There is no threat to her of any kind. It is literally impossible to harm her in any way. The only person facing any kind of potential harm is her unborn child. In one situation, two people definitely die. In the other situation, a child may be able to live. Saving lives is a good thing. This is only controversial if you actually view killing unborn children as a good thing, and want more dead children for its own sake. nytimes.com/2025/05/24/opi…

A woman is an adult human whose body is organised to produce large gametes. One easy way to tell if you're a woman is to ask yourself: have I ever produced sperm? If, as in your case, the answer is 'yes', you are a surgically altered man enacting a male idea of femaleness.

In a Dublin supermarket yesterday around 5pm. I stood still by the flower stall for a minute and decided to observe the first twenty people walking towards me. Of that twenty people, only four were Irish.

@bigfan_of_cats @PTMFramework If MPs choose to misrepresent something to justify political decisions that does not mean that the thing contributed to the political move. It's not a reason to stop trying to understand the social causes of people's very real distress and explore the harm of over medicalising.

@PTMFramework @ForenClinPsych The phrase was used by Wes Streeting as it is how lay people understand demedicalising illness. To them it means it is not real and unfortunately there are no viable alternatives to diagnosis in our society as it validates it to others & enables access to services & welfare

I don't understand how criticising psychiatric diagnosis and challenging medical models of MI are being linked with support for benefits cuts. The PTMF is quite the opposite, with an explicit goal of recognising AND challenging inequalities and deprivation to improve wellbeing.

@MichaelRosenYes I think it's true that too much of people's differences and distress is labelled as illness and disorder. But not sure that's what Wes Streeting is getting at. Good to see it being discussed though.

@russwebt Very interesting and great to see early evaluation of the new programmes. But I was confused by the mention of Kaizen in the conclusions?

@MForstater @EllieCumbo @LucyHunterB Yes. Because they are allowed to present their case. And the jury and anyone else in court has to decide which they believe on the balance of probabilities or beyond reasonable doubt, depending on the court. The summing up is where the judges response to that statement will be.

@EllieCumbo @LucyHunterB Its not just flawed though it's impossible. Like if someone's case was I bought a car from a man who said I could drive it across the sea to Calais, so I drove across the sea to Calais. Would the judge just nod and write that down without comment?

My colleagues really enjoyed the BPS event in September and we are finding the framework a really useful and positive resource to think with our service users about their experiences and how they contributed to their offending.

I have no idea whether male and female tigers attack humans at different rates. But I do know that male and female humans commit serious violent and sexual assaults at extremely different rates. Disingenuous comparison and he really should be able to do better than this.
For Women Scotland@ForWomenScot

Eddie Izzard mocks women by saying that if a tiger attacks we don't ask “Is it a boy tiger, is it a girl tiger?” No, Eddie, but women in the UK are far more likely to be attacked by a man than a tiger and yeah, sex makes a massive difference! thetimes.co.uk/life-style/cel…

Want something uplifting to watch that will make you laugh out loud and show you the best of human nature? Jury Duty on Amazon prime is a fake reality show (in a style not dissimilar to The Office) but one of the team isn’t an actor and doesn’t know that the rest are. Well worth a watch if you didn’t see it last year
