I’ve noticed that the vast majority of people who support Iranians, and care enough to message us, ask how we’re doing, and wish for a free Iran, are Cubans, Venezuelans, and Iraqis, nations that have gone through similar experiences of dictatorship and terrorism. On the other hand, many of those who have never faced such hardships and live safely in western countries support the regime’s survival and even mock Iranians who are being executed. These people ignore Iranian, Venezuelan, and Cuban voices. It almost seems like they’re the ones who are “colonising” the conversation.
