95% of this roster is fun to watch. Roycroft and Pages would not be included in that group.

Not sure what Mark Pope’s future looks like after this one. 19-12 regular season finish (barring a comeback) with the most expensive roster in the country. What’s worse? Not a single recruit signed for 2026. Woof.

@echann7 @calebnoble08 I’m not saying bench him by any means, but Scott is a projectable guy. You know what you’re getting with him. Gorman and Walker are still huge question marks. They should take priority with Noot filling in at CF.

You know what type of player Scott is. He’s a valuable glove in CF who will probably settle in as a 10-15% below league average hitter.
Katie Woo@katiejwoo

@wilbriggs_ And cost Scott valuable ABs/experience? I'd argue that is just as important.

@echann7 It’s just as important to get a guy that profiles as a plus defensive CF with a below league average bat as Walker?

@kyler416 In all seriousness idk what the future plan is, but Pages is a backup and Herrera is definitely a DH.

I’m preachy today. Also, to you freaks whining about having too many catchers on the 40-man when Bernal and crooks get added in the offseason. They don’t. They currently have 2 rostered catchers in Pages and Pozo, a 1B in Contreras, and a DH-ish in Herrera. Stop being dramatic

@kyler416 Excited to see how they develop the new class. Finally have some good fastballs in the system

Tanner is correct, developing starting pitching is probably the most valuable thing in organization can do these days. With a few exceptions, and of course, the dozen of arms on the IL, nearly every arm has taken a step forward in the org with the new player development team
Tanner Hendrickson@tbone101espn

The #STLCards are set to be sellers at this year’s deadline and are likely to miss the playoffs for a third straight season. So how do they get back to contention? It has to start with pitching development. #RedbirdReport @101espn

Serious question because I haven’t been paying nearly as much attention now that I am not writing. What is the Cards Twitter consensus on where in the field Wetherholt plays next year, assuming he is a full time MLB rookie starter?

@StewStilez I just hate watching him pitch. There’s been a lot of bad pitchers lately, but his inability to throws strikes while having awful stuff is beyond frustrating.

Brutal beat for the Cardinals there. I am not surprised by anything replay might do, but I really think he was in there.

@thomasgauvain @JacobE_STL They could also DFA King, which would open up another spot to keep fresh arms up or let someone take the job.

@JacobE_STL Welcome to the club, Jacob. He's needed to be added to the 40-man for weeks now. Roddery Munoz (or Chris Roycroft) should be ousted.

It's pretty surprising to me that Andre Granillo hasn't gotten a shot yet. He's got a 1.88 ERA and 39.8% K% in AAA He's a high-slot pronator with a primary SL at 84 with 3"/5" movement, a cut-ride FB at 94 (T98) with 17" vert, and a changeup with good results in a small sample
