@klwtts @Tesla @cybertruck I also submitted a buy back request after 12 service visits waiting to hear back…
English

No, I don’t really want to talk about it 🍋
After several failures in our sub 1500 VIN Cybertruck including but not limited to: front motor inverter, rear motor inverter, rear wheel steering, and more under 25k mi, I asked if Tesla would consider buying it back. Overall it’s been a great truck and since they already fixed all the issues I would have kept it but the process was already in motion and it was the right financial decision at this time. Looking ahead to next year I may get another but I’m also reducing my overall fleet size as Turo has become less and less profitable this year for us.

@BenFullOpoop @kanigtmare @anthonieisacnt @jeremyjudkins_ Diesel vehicles are even more sensitive to cold climates because they’re compression ignition and need heat to start the combustion cycle
English

@kanigtmare @anthonieisacnt @ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ Show me the diesel vehicle in the original photo. I'll wait

English

@D0li0 @Barnacules @jeremyjudkins_ Where are they getting the electricity from to maintain the battery temps? Either it’s being cannibalize from the battery reserves or is being trickle charged by being plugged in. Imagine that, the issue is universal among ICE and EV for the same reasons.
English

@Barnacules @ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ Well fuck man, you better let Norway know their 90% BEV adoption & -20°C to -40°C temps won't work.
EURIKA!
That's why their BEV annual sales are so high, they have to replace them all when each winter destroys their poor frozen batteries.
All their water pipes must burst too.
English

Tell me again how an EV is going to keep its battery warm enough to operate in adverse conditions? Where is that electricity ultimately going to come from?
These outlets are on timers, and 10-15 minutes at 600 watts at 120vac is going to be a significantly less amount of charge that my Tesla battery will cannibalize from itself to keep it perpetually warm.
Your head is up your ass
English

@curious_omni @jeremyjudkins_ You realize you’re arguing my point right? Is your head up your ass?
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ It's YOU who's talking out of your a$$!
EVs have a massive battery that can warm up all it's components...including itself (battery).
Gas vehicles don't have a battery big enough to keep itself warm!
English

Which an engine block heater will not assist with. In extreme conditions, a battery blanket is required to maintain enough cold cranking amps. Amperage loss due to extreme cold is universal to all batteries, it just so happen my Tesla will cannibalize its own charge to keep its battery at a minimum acceptable temperature range
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ However, your engine still relies on a battery to start.
English

@jedis83 @jeremyjudkins_ This is only applicable for diesel engines in cold conditions in relation to fuel vaporization
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ At really low temperatures you actually do need to pre-heat the engine to actually get it started. For an engine to start, enough of the injected fuel needs to vaporise, and to vaporise the fuel heat is needed.
English

@Streetlnvestor @jeremyjudkins_ Wait till you find out what happens to ATF when it gets cold
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ You’re confidently incorrect. They’re not the same type of oil. Go forge yourself and fuck right off.
English

@HeadBand42 @jeremyjudkins_ Correct, but oil viscosity changes due to temperature swings is universal unless you’re wanting to violate the laws of physics
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ Gear oil and engine oil are not the same thing.
English

@BenFullOpoop @jeremyjudkins_ get back to me when you understand about voltage drops in batteries due to cold conditions. I’ll let you in on a little secret, it’s universal to all batteries.
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ Um... the fuck you don't! You have to plug it in to keep the battery warm or your shit won't start. What do you think the plugs are for? 🤦🏻♂️
English

@Kep22a @jeremyjudkins_ Sure it will, at the cost of excessive wear. Lived in Fairbanks for a bit, very familiar with it. Wait till you find out I own a Tesla as well
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ Nice response out of your own ass. Yes, your ICE F-150 will not start in Fairbanks if you don’t plug it in. Oil pan heater, block heater, and battery blanket are pretty necessary. Engine oil and gear lube are very different things.
English

@mynetsecaccount @jeremyjudkins_ Average pindick not understanding how oil functions as a lubricant
English

@ForgeOverland @jeremyjudkins_ The fluid in teslas drive unit is ATF. So you’re saying automatic transmissions will also have issues in the cold?
English

@davidchappine @SaveStandard Nah homie, you’re wrong. Eliminate standard time
English

End Daylight Saving Time means end Daylight Saving Time—NOT end Standard Time! Standard Time aligns with our natural rhythms and is safer. Year-round DST would be incredibly stupid, and people would want to change back very quickly. @SaveStandard

English

@spotted_model Have a Tesla, and a ICE vehicle simultaneously
