Sharia law, to the extent it is applied AS LAW, cannot be allowed. Some Christians practise Lent. Others don't believe in fighting in war. Others don't smoke or drink alcohol. Some Christians and all Jews believe that the Sabbath is on Saturday. These beliefs are all fine and should be allowed in a free and democratic society. But to think that religious practises should be made LAW is absurd. Marriage to a child? Marriage and consummation of that marriage when the girl is nine? We call that pedophilia and, so long as we have any Western culture left, pedophilia will continue to be regarding as one of the most heinous of all crimes.
