@panosmek Thank you. Not just for this post, but for being an #XRPL OG and one of the voices that convinced us to build here in the first place. Seeing you question the state of things hits hard but we know it comes from a place of love and a belief that this ecosystem can be far greater than it is. We feel that too. We’re genuinely grateful for our @Ripple grant and we view it as a mandate to bridge this gap. Because the stigma is real. In meetings with VCs and institutional partners, we’ve been challenged by serious people: "Why XRPL? There’s no gravity there. Look at the developer velocity and the capital being deployed elsewhere. You’re building in a vacuum." We won’t pretend those comments didn't sting or make us question our direction. But we stay because we strongly believe #XRPL is the right home for this institutional and revolutionary moment. Building in commodity tokenization, we see from the inside that the infrastructure is right. There is immense talent at @Ripple, at @xrpl_commons , and at @XRPFoundation. There is also a dedicated group of brilliant entrepreneurs like the team @anodos building through the noise because they know the technical truth of this ledger. @Ripple has had massive wins, but understandably the focus shifted toward the legal fights and building out institutional rails. Now is the time to bring that same intensity back to the #XRPL development community. The foundation is here. The talent is here. The institutional moment for RWAs is now. Thanks to posts like yours, the conversation on how we actually win starts here. And we are always ready to contribute.

For the people in the back, I will say this again: I'm bullish on XRP and XRPL. I have been here for 10+ years with all its ups and downs. The XRP community is a family to me, and families grow through honesty and constructive feedback. To see this network and technology at #1, we need to be truthful to ourselves. It's not about the problems, it's about the solutions and what we can do to be the best we can. It's a shame that other networks are years ahead in most metrics. We shouldn't allow that.

@JoelKatz @ja_akinyele From @Fortstock1’s experience building inventory-backed lending (a near-ideal RWA use case) on XRPL: we're excited about the upcoming Lending protocol and think one small addition would make it perfect for RWAs: a collateralized loan type that simply accepts an escrowed MPT (or any token) as collateral. It would sit cleanly alongside the uncollateralized design, require almost no new objects, and let inventory financing ($2–3T gap), receivables ($1.5–2T gap), and similar use cases plug straight in.

XRP Ledger was created in 2012. The world of blockchain has changed many, many times over since then. My own thoughts on governance and consensus models have evolved. I’ve been mulling over how XRP is used in DeFi (both organically with apps and protocols like Flare, MoreMarkets, Axelar, Doppler, etc) and natively onchain. With programmability initiatives and smart contract discussions underway, it seemed like a good time for us to also discuss what other DeFi capabilities natively could look like. @ja_akinyele wrote a great introductory blog post below:
