I’ll continue to ask @Bethany about a transparent plan for programmatic boundaries between their family crisis program & ReNew program for pregnant people & birthing parents with newborns - and - their recruitment for their infant adoption program… #adoption #abortion #roevwade

Believing that Child Welfare systems protect American Children leaves children at risk, excusing America from finally confronting inherent inequality and injustice.

Are we still calling it Mother's Day or is it now just Domestic Infant Supplier Day?

She may have been #44488 when she went into that orphanage, but she was somebody’s daughter before she became the child of someone else. We are not supplies! We are not commodities to be traded, sold. Mad as hell! #adoption #adopteevoices #adoptees

I don’t understand the whole let’s get rid of social workers argument. Don’t we need more social workers to lower caseloads, allow more time for relationship-based, reflective practice and training. Surely that’ll help retention and consistency? What am I missing?

if yo mama ever fed me, let me sleep over, gave me a ride home from school/extracurricular activities, or even just comforted me, happy Mother’s Day to her.

This is a conservative and liberal pattern that creates so called foster care crisis: Washington State and Texas are examples. Both want the public to believe foster care reform is the problem rather than Intentional hyper-capitalism and widening economic inequality.

You don't foster care a state out of a foster care crisis. The problem is never too few beds, homes, or families. States legislatures erode safety net programs and grow economic and social inequality. Distressed families are then taken apart in the name of child safety.

We really need to talk about how many social workers & social work students are experiencing the same oppressive conditions as clients/people we work with. This is rarely acknowledged in school. For so many, this isn’t “charity”- this is life.

SH also isn’t effective for what it’s actually intended for either. There are SH laws in all states & infanticide & unsafe surrenders still occur anyway while non-homicidal but struggling parents who weren’t aware of other options use it not understanding how to get help instead.

Stumbled upon my adoption decree, which I haven't read in years. Note: they had to investigate the 5-week-old me to make sure I was 'suitable'.

Women do not get on with their lives after they relinquish their babies. They don’t feel good about this act which causes a lifelong sentence of GUILT & SHAME & GRIEF & LOSS. Adoption is formed by loss. One birth mother said “The grief does not subside there is no peace.”

FYI asking adoptees “Would you rather have been aborted?” is inappropriate & poor boundaries. On what planet is it ok to intrusively ask a stranger about their mom’s reproduction & their own deepest thoughts on their existence? It’s weird & violating. #RoeVsWade #abortionrights

As one of only a few post-adoption support specialists in the U.S., I’m disheartened to see folks use anti-abortion arguments that both encourage more adoptions while undermining the validity of post-adoption support at the same time. (Continued…) . #RoeVWade #adoption #abortion
