Why would tourists drive a car into the Lincoln Tunnel when they're gonna get double-dipped by NY State (congestion pricing) AND the Port Authority of NJ/NY? Why would tourists want to come to a Times Square where you just might get stuck up by some Latin American gang member? Where would tourists eat when Midtown's a fucking jungle with declining restaurant options due to high-ass rents? Why would tourists want to take the train to see this Brooklyn Bridge "improvement" when our subways are filthy, crime-ridden and filled with junkies? Nah, that Brooklyn Bridge project is a gift to themselves with taxpayer money, and they needed a plausible excuse to do it. "World Cup? Yeah, that's the ticket!!"
