@LutherEnjoyer McCain also at least came up with a catchy jingle for us to sing before fighting Iran. All Trump can do is keep repeating “we can’t let Iran have a nuke”

It isn't fair to call this George W. Bush's third term. Bush deserves credit for being honest about his intentions when he was running for reelection. McCain also ran and lost on his own beliefs in 2008
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Trump: "Let's put it this way -- you were in Vietnam 19 years. World War 2 was four years. I'm in for three months. And much of it has been ceasefire. In two wars -- Venezuela and here -- we lost 13 people. In other wars, you lost hundreds of thousands of people. We took over Venezuela. We essentially took over Iran."

@LutherEnjoyer There’s a certain thrill to lighting it all on fire. The structure was rotting towards collapse anyway, might as well get some satisfaction from destroying it with the traitors still inside.

Is anyone else shifting from being blackpilled to genuinely excited about voting for Democrats in the midterms? I was going to sit it out, but increasingly I felt that I wanted to vote AGAINST Trump, MAGA, Miriam Adelson. He's going to be impeached next year

I do find it fascinating that there is an entire generation of people that are physically incapable of self-adjusting when prices are high. Like bro, if a Chipotle burrito is $17 just stop buying the fucking burrito every day.

The message from the post 9/11 years is that you’re a sucker if you sacrifice anything for this country. Pat Tillman learned the hard way. Decades of criminals getting rich, never being punished, endless wars for weapons contractors and Israel. What is there to celebrate?

@NwardScisorhnds @Jacksukku @revenant_MMXX It’s insane. You can’t tell me people are actually buying beef kidneys and tripe for $12+ per pound in such numbers that they can justify the price. Even the stuff my great-grandparents were forced to settle for in the Great Depression is a füćkíng luxury now

quite literally the exact same people who put “let’s go brandon” stickers on gas pumps and chimped about egg prices shucking and jiving right now about beans and rice to justify the Cheeto Mango Small Hand Two Scoops (orange btw) war for the jews degrading your quality of life

@Jacksukku @revenant_MMXX Beef is too expensive even when it goes on sale these days. I never see BOGO for any beef cuts anywhere I shop anymore. Basically just living on chicken and pork, and occasionally fish when that goes on sale.

Who's even buying the steak anymore that I see on the shelves at the supermarkets? Maybe I just got priced out of it so it's not my concern anymore, but when I see $20 for a single steak it really makes me wonder who's even willing to pay that Even buying a chuck roast or a cheap top round feels almost cost prohibitive I don't need filet or porterhouse to be happy with a meat dinner, I'm willing to eat some of the cheapest cuts imaginable but it's like I can't even get that anymore

@SD4RFKJr24 @FischerKing64 Maher is successful because he’s also generally funny, even to people who hate his politics Colbert, Kimmel, & Fallon just aren’t funny enough to carry their shows like Leno & Letterman did. Maybe a failure of the writing room, because they were funny before the late night gigs

@FischerKing64 I disagree. A funny host with interesting guests is one of the very few, 20th century TV formats that could still be quite viable today. Bill Maher isn’t even very bright, but because he’s a Democrat who sometimes disagrees with the DNC, he’s had a show on HBO for decades.

Late Night television is simply dying. Colbert’s overly political ‘comedy’ that isn’t even funny to many liberals hurried things along. But the format is just not relevant to younger people.
Variety@Variety

Has #StephenColbert’s push into politics hurt the late-night format? Late-night was never supposed to play to a particular type of audience: #JohnnyCarson made fun of politicians, but mostly their public goofs, not their policies. #JayLeno rarely became political. And #DavidLetterman feuded with politicians but not over what they did in Washington. In 2026, late-night shows are a wholly different creation. “These shows were built to be vaudeville in the box in your living room,” says professor Dannagal Young, who studies political satire and the media preferences of liberals and conservatives. “They were a place to watch jugglers and clowns and funny people doing impressions. They were not made for this.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lHirU

According to people on this app nobody ate food or had coffe outside the home or visited pubs but somehow diners, restaurants and pubs were all thriving 40 years ago. Were in the midst of a coffeeshop, diner, restaurant and pub mass extinction event but apparently the reason millennials are poor is because we spend all our money at them.
Jim Sharp@prowrstlngstrng

I am not defending boomers, but they did generally live pretty cheap in their 20s Going out for coffee was insane. You threw Yuban into tiur Mr Coffe and put it in a thermos Eating out meant a trip to Pizza Hut maybe once a month Vacation was driving to a campsite

@FischerKing64 Dude, allow nuance into your life. There are lots of good arguments against DEI, quotas, & equality of outcome crap. But “diversity bad” is such a dumb stance. If you want to argue that all societies should be homogenous, then just say it. Christopher Nolan can do what he wants.

A strong argument against rapidly overwhelming a society with diversity - which the vast majority of the population didn’t want or ask for - is to avoid stupid and unnecessary conversations like whether James Bond or Hamlet should be a black dude.
Matthew Yglesias@mattyglesias

The impulse to diversify canonical works like The Odyssey is the whole concept of a canon doing what it’s supposed to do — serving as broad cultural patrimony rather than as a curious foreign story. slowboring.com/p/a-diverse-od…

@LutherEnjoyer No more delusions about the GOP becoming a vehicle for America’s salvation. It’s over. Only practical thing to do now is render the GOP irrelevant on the national level, end the two party charade, and kick Trump in the ass as hard as possible on the way out.

@ChristianHeiens Last time I did any of that for a politician was when Trump was still running. How did that turn out? There was a time when we thought Trump might be different. Now we see he’s as traitorous as the rest of the party. Voting GOP ain’t going to save you. We’re screwed either way.

There's a certain demographic of contrarian malcontents who are so mindraped by Epstein and Israel that they immediately become a net negative for any political movement they latch themselves on to. These people contribute nothing to any political fight they engage in. They knock on zero doors. They donate $0. They volunteer on zero campaigns. They do absolutely no organizational work whatsoever, even as they rage online about how stupid and ineffective everyone else is. And when election season rolls around, it's a 50/50 proposition whether they even show up because they usually talk themselves into sabotaging whatever movement they claim to be part of. Let guys like you finally become the Left's problem to deal with. There comes a point when your vote isn't worth chasing. Having people like this as a political ally is the equivalent of having Italy fight on your side in a World War.
