The entire Zoomer outlook on life boils down to not taking anything seriously. To be serious is to be 'cringe', to be in love is to be a 'simp', and to be ambitious is to be a 'try-hard'. THREAD 🧵

No matter how redpilled you get, you must understand that most politics is copium for becoming an absolute loser. Doesn’t matter how true the insight is, every possible discovery is a magnet for loserdom. Take the the wisdom and run your own way. Use the info for what you will.

My hot take is that this isn’t a result of algorithmic hijacking of the youth, but rather a result of the precipitous decline in quality of people’s character in public. You can’t blame the phones when everybody, everywhere, is absolutely insufferable, especially if you go out.
Clavicular Updates@Clav0Updates

Clavicular says he doesn’t like doing ANYTHING anymore except sitting in his house and rotting 😳 “I hate doing anything to be honest with you… I don’t like anything, I like to sit in my house all day and do nothing… That means rotting is that good if I’d rather do that than make millions, I’d rather rot…”

Why do liminal spaces resonate with us so much? What is it about AI and Dall-e that is so uncanny and strange? Is there a deeper meaning behind all these things? THREAD

@RelaxGeniusTV @GirardHolistic Might be the creative spark ignited by living under genuine tyranny. Covid sucked but blatant censorship and overreach forced many out of their intellectual slumber.

It feels like the world is closing in. Something immense and impersonal is pressing in from all sides. Ever since I was a kid, there has been a background reality, an ambient texture underlying life, that grounds all experience and holds everything in place. It feels like this is being engulfed by an unnameable force. I’ve never felt this way in my life, even during vibe shifts, even during historical events. Something more fundamental and indescribable is fading.

After 9/11, Roger Rosenblatt wrote in The Times that the age of irony was over. Almost exactly 24 years later on Sept 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk was murdered The internet’s immediate response? Celebration, AI songs, Kirkslop, meme bullets. Irony didn’t die. It became nihilistic.

Does the left still tell itself, either publicly or privately, that it doesn't want open borders? This may sound like a gotcha or irony, but it is meant in dead earnest. When they have mass protests against any removal of illegals, is there any fig leaf still left? 1/

When teaching is reduced to regurgitating the curriculum and learning to passive absorption of useless information, education becomes meaningless. What matters is not why something is learned or who teaches it, but only that it is processed and repeated, all for the sake of a piece of paper. Once the possession of information becomes the goal of education, both students and teachers will inevitably end up using AI. If learning is treated as a means rather than an end in itself, the rational response is to take the path of least resistance and use whatever system performs the task most efficiently. Obviously, the purpose of the education system was never to cultivate a genuinely educated population. What we learned, how we learned it, never really mattered. What mattered was the system of rewards and punishments that conditioned us to equate value with service to authority rather than substance within oneself. Ivan Illich said it perfectly: “They school them to confuse process and substance. The pupil is thereby “schooled” to confuse teaching with learning, grade advancement with education, a diploma with competence, and fluency with the ability to say something new. His imagination is “schooled” to accept service in place of value. Medical treatment is mistaken for health care, social work for the improvement of community life, police protection for safety, military poise for national security, the rat race for productive work. Health, learning, dignity, independence, and creative endeavor are defined as little more than the performance of the institutions which claim to serve these ends, and their improvement is made to depend on allocating more resources to the management of hospitals, schools, and other agencies in question.”

Lewiston Maine is also where Donald Giusti was stoned and kicked to death by a group of Somalis in a park in 2018. The Community Relations Service intervened and made his family read prepared statements disavowing a racial motive. One of the killers got a 9 month sentence.

There’s a reason this image went viral. It reflects something we all intuit about modern dating. We all know that dating now has become a humiliating performance for attention. Before any interaction takes place - on an app or in person - everybody is already aware of the hyper-stratified dating market. Men know that they are competing with millions just to be noticed, while woman know they have the power to choose among many options. The result is a unequal power dynamic in which women play the role of queen-like arbiters, consigning dating profiles to a virtual reject pile with the swipe of a thumb, while men are forced to differentiate themselves through self-conscious clownery just to provoke interest. Neither party relates to the other as a unique person. Instead, both sides follow a choreographed script. When courtship is reduced to binary choices - DM or don’t, swipe left or right, approach or avoid - intentions become obvious from the start. Because of this, each side becomes hyper-aware of the other’s incentives, which only makes every interaction feel derivative, instrumental, and outcome-driven. This explains why most matches devolve into meaningless hookups or situationships. When both sides know the objective of the interaction from the outset - and know that the other knows it too - dating becomes a contest over who can appear more self-aware and detached from the process itself. Men, fatigued by being ignored or left on read constantly, and women, fatigued by transparent bids for attention, hide behind layers of irony as a form of emotional plausible deniability. Profiles are scrubbed of anything that might seem “cringe” and replaced with memes and self-aware jokes. Nobody takes the other, or themselves seriously out of fear of being hurt. To express passion or seriousness openly is also to risk being seen as desperate, clingy, or emotionally unstable - labels that we fear now because they imply weakness, insecurity, and codependence. For men, vulnerability or romantic sensitivity is framed as a failure of masculinity, a sign of weakness or simpery. For women, expressing dependence or attachment is treated as a failure to be modern, liberated, and independent. Both manosphere and feminist discourse feed into the fear of sincerity. Men are pressured to conceal the depth of their inner lives, while woman are pressured to be emotionally self-sufficient, and appear strong by staying single. Today, love is expected to generate only surface level feelings - harmless emotion and inconsequential arousal. As Byung Chul Han writes, love has been stripped of negativity, made “free from injury, assault, or collision.” To fall in love would already be too disruptive. “Yet it is precisely this negativity that constitutes love. Love is not a possibility, is not due to our initiative, is without reason; it invades and wounds us.”

for most people, freedom is a curse that's why you need a boss to tell you what to work on, a doctor to tell you what to eat, a trainer to tell you how to move, a therapist to tell you what to feel, an algorithm to tell you what to watch, a talking head to tell you what's true, a marvel movie to tell you who's good you are free, but you seek masters to unburden yourself of it the enlightenment gave us autonomy and we used it to build better cages.
BowTiedRanger@BowTiedRanger

Poor people are almost all retarded. When you let poor people make decisions, they will make retarded ones unless you don’t let them make retarded decisions. This applies to food choices, applying for credit cards, and anything that has a component of deferred gratification tied to the outcome. The poors should be governed with an iron fist, not given more freedom to do whatever they want.

In the early 2000’s, there was this weird admixture of Kumbaya globalism and small-c conservatism. Growing up in the Bush era, I remember seeing this multicultural imagery everywhere - paper hands circling globes, multiethnic kids books, etc. Yet patriotism was still politically neutral at the time, especially after 9/11. In 1st grade, I remember making Valentine’s cards with my classmates for soldiers in Iraq. Something like that would be unthinkable today.
