Late May in Warsaw. Strawberry season is starting. Asked the lady at Bar Mleczny when they'd have pierogi with strawberries. "When they're in season." Me: "When are they in season?" Her: "When you'll see them sold at every corner." Polish cuisine is seasonal by default. The strawberries appear. Naleśniki with strawberries start showing up everywhere. Pierogi with strawberries follow. May is also the time when chłodnik appears everywhere — cold beetroot soup with kefir and egg. In July, blueberry season. Jagodzianki sold in every bakery. Every month is unique. You appreciate it even more because you know this is the only time of the year you'll be able to eat it. No need for a "seasonal eating protocol." If you live in Poland you eat seasonally by default.

As you know, in World Cup Fantasy midfielders get extra points for chances created and tackles, so I used my scouting software to look for mids with the most routes to points. After going through 60% of the player pool, I found only 2 midfielders who can realistically hit both extra thresholds consistently. You would never guess who they are. But I'll post about one of them tomorrow🫡
