The Catholic Church does no one any favors by trying to lower her standards. The final exam that all of us will face at the end of this life promises to be a difficult one. "How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few" Mt 7:14.

I'd never looked before at Anointing of the Sick prior to VatII Startling how much was changed, de-emphasized —Dropped invocation of Saints (as usual) —Previously, eyes, ears, nostrils, mouth, hands, and feet were anointed, and healing asked from sins connected to each

How does the time, energy, resources we invest in passing things: sports, games, the latest gossip and news Compare with what we spend in pursuit of the timeless, what will endure for all eternity, the things of God? Which is the better investment? wp.me/p9aPLR-S3

Entrusted with the two greatest Treasures to ever grace this world of darkness—the Eternal Light Incarnate & His Immaculate Mother—Saint Joseph was put in charge of all God’s household. In your every need, “Go to Joseph, and do whatever he tells you” (Gen 41:55).

Anyone else think of sleep as a factory reset for your body? Headache, stomachache? A little nap should take care of that. Broken leg? Better give that the full eight hours sleep.

@pluant but God revealed back then that someone who lived in the 20th century would end up in heaven? Obviously, the pro arguments center around knowing what God has revealed about sanctity and salvation and the Church’s authority to apply those principles reliably to historical facts..

@pluant I remember initially being surprised that there was any question, but even just thinking logically, infallibility pertains most readily to what has been directly revealed by God, and public revelation closed with the death of the last Apostle,
