@pluant but God revealed back then that someone who lived in the 20th century would end up in heaven? Obviously, the pro arguments center around knowing what God has revealed about sanctity and salvation and the Church’s authority to apply those principles reliably to historical facts..

@pluant I remember initially being surprised that there was any question, but even just thinking logically, infallibility pertains most readily to what has been directly revealed by God, and public revelation closed with the death of the last Apostle,

The infallibility question here is open to some debate, which is good considering the appalling way in which saint factory standards have been allowed to decline.
