We are grateful for our fathers in whatever way the Lord has given them to us: biological fathers, Godfathers, Church fathers, neighborhood fathers.

We remain grateful for the sacrifice of so many and remain faithful to our obligation to love, even our enemies.

Putting kids in charge of attendance isn’t a quick fix for #chronicabsenteeism. It’s part of a much bigger goal to build a #schoolcommunity based on mutual respect, where kids + adults feel responsible and accountable to one another. Not easy in our fractured society…

Watched our 10th graders-the majority of whom are black and brown and therefore 5x more likely to drown than their white counterparts-tread water for 8 min all while passing a 10lb weight to each other. All part of our Water Adversity Challenge (WAC) required of all 10th graders.

I continue to be impressed with and grateful for the young men and women from @NavalAcademy who are here working with our kids to build #teamwork, #community and #resilience.
