Lawler —who’s sought to calm the headwinds of Trump’s comments w/ the Haitian population in his NY district— makes quick condemnation of the racist comments from last night’s Trump rally. Republicans see upside to Trump in swing districts like these but this is an example of the other side of that coin; where Trump makes more work for GOP incumbents, not less.

@peggy_gabour @srl This is accountability. The negotiated settlement included this statement and (I'm sure) financial compensation. Moss & Freeman would have ended up owning Gateway Pundit and its trademarks if it had gone to trial, but that would have taken forever with uncertain results.

How do I know? I sat and talked to a fire chief in a tiny town on top of a mountain yesterday and didn’t realize I was on one of the FEMA disaster relief sites. A couple folks with badges; but you could easily go, grab supplies, and leave w/o knowing it’s being supported by FEMA

@emptywheel To your point: Hurricane Sandy hit New York City on October 29. That was perhaps late in the season. My wife went to Columbus OH to help GOTV for the election. Hearing she was from NYC the staffer said,"Those poor people in Staten Island! How will they vote?"
