@HeatherYemm Breastfeeding is permitted at KLM flights. However, to ensure that all our passengers of all backgrounds feel comfortable on board, we may request a mother to cover herself while breastfeeding, should other passengers be offended by this.

So this is happening... will report back on taste test after I’ve sourced crackers. I like Marmite. I like peanut butter. But together? 🤨

Spring means holidays and... delays? Take a look at upcoming EC #merger filings, including Red Hat/IBM, Celgene/Bristol-Myers & Fincantieri, in this week’s State of Play by @fra_Miche: bit.ly/2Xfqn7e. Not a subscriber? Try PaRR: bit.ly/2TnAXvp. #competitionlaw

The EC's two most notable Phase II merger reviews might be running with parallel timetables, but Tata/Thyssenkrupp & LGI/Vodafone are proceeding quite differently. Read the latest from @Fra_Miche in this week's State of Play: bit.ly/2FXOX5s #mergercontrol #competitionlaw

An Italian attendee at a recent conference was astonished to see gender-balanced panels and even an all-women panel. "This would never be the case in Italy", he commented. I do not struggle to believe him.

@aoifewhite101 Thanks! I find it very difficult to put this into perspective. Zero maternity leave just sounds crazy here.

Somebody should write/flag an analysis of the historical reasons for which the US has this situation. Any suggestions?
rogue_economist@nitinsri65

@MatinaStevis @WSJ A bit dated, but Australia added paid parental leave in 2011, leaving Swaziland, Lesotho, Papua New Guinea and the US as the only countries with no such scheme.
