I can't possibly understate the political & policy consequences of this: Democrats just gained full control of four state governments today. Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, and Minnesota. (I have no idea what to make of the aliteration.)

@ShinjiTheCuban I'm Lebanese/Mexican-American, and it torments me, and it agonizes me to see my family voting to deny our fellow Latinos the right to make a better life in this country, the same right my abuelos had many years ago.

@FarrenSkyHeart Absolutely. Voting should be as easy as going to the store to buy a pack of cigarettes. Federal authority needs to be used to ensure that ballot locations are distributed equitably and plentifully and within access to public transportation.

I've said it before, but the difference we'd see in our government if voting was mandatory would be astounding. Even small fines for neglecting the duty have been shown to heavily motivate eligible voters in Australia. Crucial to this is making voting trivially easy.

@PonderBeaver The reschedule is a small step in the right direction. If Biden is waiting to issue an executive order to legalize for 2024, I feel like it honestly would have done him more good last night.

@Fractal_Edge Biden has already asked the FDA to consider rescheduling marijuana, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens in the next year. And if the Dems retain both chambers of Congress, the MORE Act may be advanced (which might even happen in the lame duck if Dems lose a chamber).

Now that Maryland has finally legalized Cannabis, I'm interested to see the impact this has on Federal legislation, given the dominance of this state and fellow legal state Virginia in the Federal government.

@strawberrypood It's a shame, Ohio really does have potential. It's sad that the state invested so much in higher education, only for graduates to leave for greener pastures.

@TheEconomist I'm interested in the possibility of global languages occuring from future mergers of the most common ones today; for instance, English and Spanish becoming closely entangled, or Arabic and Hindi.
