Despite the flaws of the 2000s Fantastic Four films, Julian McMahon brought Victor Von Doom the presence, charisma, and ambition that made the character so iconic. A hugely talented actor who was far too underrated, and who also gave us the unforgettable Cole Turner in Charmed. 💚

The thing is, all those supernatural events didn't just happen around him, they were triggered by the wish he made. Once the impossible starts happening exactly the way he wished for, all he had to do was accept that it was real instead of staying in denial. That's what makes the premise hard to buy.

@FrameRaws He's a bit of a coward but that's pretty much his worse trait. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do when a bunch of incredibly supernatural stuff is happening around you. The movie fails on the absurdity of the premise.

Bears in #Obsession is one of the biggest cowards I've seen in a story. He makes a wish to force Nikki to love him, realizes she's no longer truly herself, and still wants to keep that fake love. Then he starts getting close to Sarah, and when she's attacked, he just closes his eyes and doesn't lift a finger to help. It's hard to sympathize with someone who constantly runs from the consequences of his own choices.
