For the next 24 hours, I'm giving away a pdf with exact instructions on how I set up my clients' fat loss diets. To grab it, just like this tweet + comment "GUIDE" and I'll send it to you. Gotta be following me to get the DM.

@DespoticInroad Cities aren’t just labour markets to optimise. They’re communities. And if policy starts from productivity instead of people, we already know how it ends.

@DespoticInroad International comparisons (France, Japan) are used to justify density. But those countries have stronger tenant protections & different housing systems along with more state intervention You can’t import density without importing the model behind it.

One reason why Liverpool's urban core (pictured in Ant's diagram) isn't very dense is because of the Militant Tendency's housebuilding programme in the 1980s. Unlike the municipal socialist New Left in other local authorities, Merseyside's old-fashioned factory-floor Trotskyists adopted a "mono-maniacal" housebuilding obsession, pursuing what they thought were the working class's more conservative tastes in architecture. Brutalism, or high-concept design inspired by Soviet/continental modernism, was ditched in favour of semi-detached houses & bungalows with private driveways/front & back gardens, and no communal spaces. Denser inner-city tenements & high rises were demolished to make way for ultra-traditional "Hatton Houses", with very suburban-looking sprawling estates built right in the shadow of towering city-centre landmarks like the Anglican Cathedral (see below) & near the waterfront North & South of town. As a result, many of the prime commercial/tourist districts border residential areas built by the local authority that feel incongrous so close to the centre – a doughnut ring of municipal conservative-socialist suburbia boxing in the real metropole. ucldigitalpress.co.uk/Book/Article/5…

Britain's big cities are not very dense. But why? And where should they be looking to build upwards? The answer lies in the postwar housing (blue) built in "collars" around the big city centres. This is very low density + should be the priority for densification. Quick thread:

@DespoticInroad There’s almost nothing on who owns the new housing, Whether it’s actually affordable, how rents are controlled, You can build thousands of homebut if they’re owned by investors, you’ve just scaled the problem.

🔴 #LFC winger Josh Abe (15) has now signed with Tyler Alexander-Arnold's PLG Agency. Abe recently visited Real Madrid and was given the VIP treatment. AFAIK, Abe would not be eligible to sign for Real until he turns 18 in 2028. Chelsea among PL clubs interested.

@robbohuyton @John_W_Henry What is the SB for? If a formal position from the SB is being classed by the club as "some supporters" then the whole thing needs scrapping, as they obviously don't pay a blind bit of notice to the "legally binding" agreement. Collapse it and walk away.

Having been in these meetings, the patronising replies and disingenuous arguments are an absolute piss take. So are the attempts to dress this up as reasonable discussion and negotiation. The Supporters’ Board was formed in the aftermath of @John_W_Henry trying to drag Liverpool into the European Super League (five years ago today). Something no one wanted and no one asked for. Other supporter groups look at the SB as a gold standard. The reality has been far from it. Simply ending scrutiny and accountability by declaring “three years, end of” is a joke. It calls into question the point of the whole thing. The PR since has more spin than the wheels on Ian Ayre’s Harley. We were previously told concessions could be ring-fenced. So presenting that now as a win for supporters, when it was the club who moved away from it in the first place, is bollocks. So are the endless lines about the “need” to do this. There is no need. It’s £1.2m. What it is, is the start of something. A slippery slope towards annual increases and normalising rises. And what happens after three years? They won’t say. But we all know. They keep going up. This is on Boston. And it’s about billionaires being out of touch. They don’t get what they’ve got. And they don’t get what they risk losing. Passionate, loyal, generational match-going support. The culture. The Kop. The habit. The love. It isn’t a product. So the only move left is to protest. If it works, it works. If it doesn’t, then this is the road we’re on now. Good luck to the kids wanting to do what we always did. But if you care, now is the time to stand up and back it and make it work. Support Not A Pound In The Ground. Support the next steps. Get your mates on board. The people who have given up so much of their time for the greater good can’t do it on their own. If you don’t, if you can’t be arsed, or if you want to spend your time opposing affordability, then as Ian Ayre once said: Be careful what you wish for…

We want to share with supporters, in the spirit of the transparency the club wishes to champion, our letter to them and their reply. We strongly disagree with the portrayal of our discussions and the characterisation of this as ‘some supporters’. We will follow up on next steps

Last weekend at Anfield, supporters demonstrated how they felt about LFC’s multi-year ticket price increases. The next day, Virgil Van Dijk said that he hopes supporters and the club can find solution. We asked the club if they were willing to do so, as we are. They said no.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk on the protests over ticket price increases: "I think the fans are the heart and soul of the club. If they feel like this then protest is their fair right. Hopefully they come to a solution with the club. "These things are far above my position as captain of the club. But my opinion is that our fans are the club. They always have been - before my time and will be after my time. It's important that these things get solved because it benefits no-one."

Share this far and wide - on here, in your WhatsApp groups, on your social media. No flags and Not A Pound In The Ground is the starting point. If enough people do it, it will send a message to FSG: they got this one wrong. @spiritofshankly and @_lfcsb offered to talk to the ownership again and that offer was ignored. Fans said they wanted to protest. This is the start.

Hundreds of thousands of LFC supporters have tonight received a ‘personal’ email from LFC’s most senior paid official. LFC’s directors pay , including said official, grew 8% last year. The highest paid director, which may well be the email sender, earnt £2.3m, up from £2.1m

So everyone’s just had the same ‘personal’ from Billy Hogan? I’ve been sat in all of those meetings mentioned, he hasn’t He wants to say that they want the debate grounded in ‘facts’, which implies it isn’t. LFC, what isn’t factual? Here’s an offer Billy - let’s debate it
