You’re not failing. The math doesn’t work.

Gen X holds $42.6 trillion in wealth. Most Gen Xers feel financially stressed. Both are true because that wealth is concentrated in the top 10%. The rest are squeezed between supporting aging parents and struggling adult children and hurting from decades of wage stagnation.

Our research illustrates that people feel lonelier in some countries than others during midlife. It also sheds light on reasons this may be occurring and how governments can address it with better policies.

Another thing I will carry forward is how Suniya pushed me and others to think about how to best communicate research findings to a broader audience. We always discussed the importance of conducting research that could benefit the greater good of society.

I am forever grateful for Suniya’s friendship and mentorship. We had so many lively, engaging and wonderful discussions on research and the importance of family. The papers we published on #resilience from 2016-2018 will hold a special place in my heart.
