Trump just outnegiotiated Carney on the new deal to open the new Gordie Howe Bridge. How much did Canadians lose in revenue? The Liberal brass knew it was bad and Carney would get negative press. The Liberals pulled their usual stunt - change the topic. They sent Carney to the Calgagary Stampede to flipcakes hoping for a good photo op. Didn't work. Canadians are slowly waking up to the con job Carney is trying to put over on Canada.

Trump claims that the US needs nothing from Canada for one simple reason. He's a fucking moron. That's it. Ask the Big 3 where their biggest export market is for vehicles. Sure as hell isn't Mexico or Europe. Canada spent 24 billion on American made vehicles in 2024. Think the big 3 can absorb a loss like that? Canada on the other hand can offer incentives to dozens of other car companies like Toyota, BMW, Volkswagen and other European manufacturers, many of whom are already established here. We can choose to sell our oil elsewhere at market prices instead of giving the Americans a discounted rate. America is already experiencing a fertilizer shortage thanks to the Strait of Hormuz being closed. Canada has an abundance of urea which is used in the creation of fertilizer. Trump spent the majority of his childhood with an overbearing father that he could never please so now his ego is so fragile he needs to play the tough guy. Let him and sit back while he falls on his face.
What is it about Pierre Poilievre that makes him so incredibly unelectable to Canadians? It's obvious beyond his base and RW Twitter that Canadians have absolutely zero confidence in his ability to even lead a riding, let alone our country... Canada has a big trade surplus with the US. We have a huge trade deficit with China. This means that we don’t actually have much leverage to use against the US. The trade dispute will hurt us, more than it hurts them. We do have leverage we could use against China, but we won’t.
Are conservatives really siding with Trump reneging on a contract that included Canada spending billions and blaming our PM for a weird deal Harper made? I hope I’m misunderstanding.

@FredCDobbes Bryan's point was that liberals were hypocrites, cheering Carney for a rubbish deal that amounted to a capitulation, where those same people would have (rightly) flambéed pp for it. But thanks for proving my point.
