That is a fair critique. I don’t agree that the U.S. owes endless blood and treasure to support a corrupt Ukrainian government, but your premise is valid. I might note that the recent hostilities between Russia and Ukraine seem tied to attempts to bring Ukraine into NATO; which we previously promised Russia we would not do. A free and independent Ukraine under a non-criminal government would be to everyone’s advantage; a vassal neither of the EU, nor Russia, nor the U.S., nor drug/human trafficking syndicates. That, I think, is the sticky wicket.
