Even if you support an income tax, the enormous challenge in WA state is that the track record of the current party in power is one of waste, fraud, and mismanagement. WA taxpayers fund billions, but these all got measurably WORSE since 2010: 1. Homelessness 2. Crime rates 3. K-12 test scores 4. Housing affordability 5. Student homelessness 6. Chronic homelessness 7. Property crime 8. Education performance 9. Encampments 10. Cost of living You should have zero belief that they will spend any money they take from taxpayers in an effective and meaningful manner or with any fiscal responsibility.

Washington State Democrats are already backtracking on their income tax only affecting those making $1 million per year “Representative Shaun Scott of Washington plans to introduce legislation for a 5% tax on wages over $125,000.” The proposal is House Bill 2100 and would impose a 5% payroll excise tax on large and medium-sized employers (which of course would be passed onto the worker) The 5% tax would apply on wages over $125,000

Students are taught that questioning psychiatric orthodoxy is anti-science. Residents learn to see human suffering through the lens of DSM categories and pharmacological solutions. Young therapists are trained to validate diagnoses rather than explore the possibility of growth through difficulty. And we wonder why nothing is getting better.
