Back from a wonderful visit to #UMichBiolChem, @UMichMedicine. Honored to be the 2024 Jourdian lecturer, hosted by dear friend @mcianfro and @PIHanson: "The George William Jourdian Lectureship is for a young rising star biochemist within the first 15 years of starting their career as an independent investigator." All thanks to the amazing work and dedication of @kellogg_liz lab. The sky is the limit for the ambitious and talented scientists I work with. They never give up in the face of a challenge & always a daily inspiration❤️ This is only the beginning, come build with us!

Our recent work with the @FreddolinoLab investigates the complex transcriptional regulation in E. coli during glucose and amino acid starvation. We uncover novel stress responsive chromatin-like structures, alongside transcription factor controlled sRNAs. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Rucheng will be starting a postdoc in April of this year at UIUC in Dr. Cari Vanderpool’s lab. There, they will study small RNAs in bacteria! (2/2)
