🚨 Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is attracting attention from major European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and AS Monaco. Bayern are reportedly monitoring him despite already having two sporting directors. From Arsenal’s perspective, Berta has been highly effective, securing last summer’s transfers, lining up multiple targets per position, and managing contract extensions.

I’ve always claimed the performances in the European tournaments doesn’t represent how good a league is but rather how good those individual teams are. I keep that opinion. What I stand against is when PL teams win in Europe it’s all “the league is so superior” and when they lose it becomes “the league is too intense” Just like it was “Bayern isn’t good enough, Bundesliga is shit” and “PSG plays in a farmer league” when they lost. And now that they win it’s suddenly a rest to play in those leagues. Real Madrid wouldn’t make it against Crystal Palace but apparently beats city because they have siesta on sundays. It’ll go on forever and it’s stupid because if we consider the extreme spending in the PL they should be winning all games in all tournaments

Viggo Björck🇸🇪 is BY FAR Djurgården’s best player. He blows me away every single game.

@PedTalksSports You seem to miss the point that the league is incredibly clear but the top teams in the 'lesser leagues' are still better than the top ones in the premier leauge (for obvious reasons).

@ceebadx I kind of get it because he's not really what we want as a CF and he's so good in all phases but if you want to use a specialist role like Alvarez' there's no better player for the job.

@useless_unc @aaw_1998 They should have kept Messi as the CF and signed a winger or midfielder using the DP spot. But Berterame is fine (not worth a DP spot obv but he’s not the main problem).

I would be happy with a window of: Julian Alvarez Sandro Tonali Anthony Gordon Palestra/Livramento Some young LB/LCB cover Obv I’d like Barcola or Kvara but that’s just not happening. We’d have to sell a lot to make the above window happen tho.

@TotalLeoFCB @nonewthing I called Joan the best GK in the world when he had played one season of top flight football so I don’t think I’m too biased when it comes to longevity.

@TotalLeoFCB @nonewthing Overall as a GK yes, but he’s not shown that he’s capable of stealing a tie for his team like Courtois has.

@TotalLeoFCB @nonewthing I’m probably one of Joan’s biggest fans but he’s not at the level of a Courtois yet.

@themagic_tophat We have a 2 week intl break where some important players lost likely get some rest with one tournament being done om Sunday, we have Southampton after that where we can rotate pretty freely. We have majority home games left where we most likely can afford to rotate

Saved for posterity. But he’s also spot on (first time ever?) The PL is brutal because teams go M2M and it’s full of athletes. Those are two facts. And they make it an exhausting league of attrition full of physical battles. Pep’s Man City set up against Arsenal with the deepest, filthiest low block we have faced all season. Fucking Pep of all people. But in Europe, these same PL teams don’t go M2M nearly as much. The games are far more open. However, they don’t have the legs at this stage of the season to match the levels of Madrid, Barca, PSG, Bayern. These are top teams with far more left in the tank. Gareth Bale called it out in an interview recently from his time at Madrid. It’s not a surprise. Rn, the difference between Arsenal vs Man City & Liverpool is the level of coaching Arsenal gets from Arteta (along with a few true difference makers in the team). What makes them special is their ability to do every part of the game well and chop and change on the fly. Can we compete on all 4 fronts now that Man City are out of the UCL? Maybe. The draws help. But it wouldn’t surprise me if we have to prioritise soon. Players are “shattered” - just listen to Rice’s last interview.
-@MusialaEra

Arsenal are the only serious Premier League side. The rest are a joke and should never make intensity jokes again. What an embarrassing way to go out, all of them

@xbtsnow @LaLigaMichael He was sold and everything was agreed but then something happened to the management of the buying club so it fell through, then he went on pre-season with Barca where he scored against Real and the rest is history.

In a time when goobs argue abt who was better at X age, remember that Fermin Lopez was an absolute nobody as a teen. Not a prodigy, not a wonderkid, not even Segunda-level. Almost 23 now, he’s scoring in the UCL & nearing 30 G&As in all comps. Point? Those debates are silly.
