The first thing communist/marxists do is disarm the citizens.
Throughout history, several authoritarian regimes have disarmed their citizens, often as a precursor to oppression or genocide. Notable examples include:
•Turkey (1911): Citizens were disarmed, leading to the slaughter of 1.5 million Armenians during the Armenian Genocide.
•Soviet Union (1929): Stalin banned private gun ownership, coinciding with mass purges and the deaths of millions of dissidents.
•Nazi Germany (1938): Jews and other “unreliable” groups were systematically disarmed, facilitating the Holocaust and the murder of 6 million Jews.
•China (1935): Mao Zedong confiscated firearms, resulting in mass killings during his regime, with an estimated 65 million deaths.
•Cambodia (1956): Pol Pot’s regime disarmed citizens, leading to the murder of 1 million intellectuals in the “killing fields”.
•Guatemala (1964): Disarmament preceded the massacre of 100,000 Mayan Indians.
•Uganda (1970): Christians were disarmed under Idi Amin’s rule, resulting in 300,000 deaths.
•Rwanda (1994): The Tutsi population was disarmed before the genocide, which claimed 1 million lives.
These regimes often justified disarmament as measures for public safety or crime prevention but ultimately used it to consolidate power and suppress dissent.
