Dragging Mark Kelkenberg (@MarkKelkenberg) out of the college soccer and USL world to join me tonight for a special, perhaps suboptimal, edition of The Free Kick Podcast (@FreeKickPod) . Todd is on vacation, so the inmates are running the show. Join us at 9 PM as we talk about the seven-goal thriller that ultimately ended in a Union loss. youtube.com/live/3FNjRCgSs… See you then!

Cavan Sullivan came off the bench in the 44th minute replacing Jovan Lukic, as he made an impact right away with his cross finding Geiner Martínez, who hit the post. Sullivan played 47 minutes, registering five chances (most in game), and scored his first MLS goal. “That late first half push will probably go under the radar because of how good the second half was. But we came out flying once I came on the field. I felt like we had our moments. I’m always looking to come in and make an impact, and I felt I did that tonight.” #doop | #usynt | #usmnt

Cavan Sullivan talked about the frustrations of blowing the game late against Orlando City tonight. "We're giving it our all, and it just never seems to be enough. We keep giving up in the late 80th minute. It sucks. That second half push was great, it was incredible. Ben Bender had himself a game. Nate Harriel fights so hard for us. You see Raffanello out there working, working, and working. And it sucks. To the fans, we're sorry. You guys deserve more. But I feel good things are coming, and that second half push gives us good momentum going into the break." #doop | #usynt | #usmnt

15ish minutes until kickoff here at Inter&Co Stadium. 80° out, with 74% humidity. Very, very muggy here in Orlando. We’ll see how much of a factor the humidity plays on the Union players. #doop

Fewer than 30 days until the World Cup arrives in Philadelphia. Today, media members got a look inside the stadium as it takes the final steps toward being transformed for the tournament and brought up to FIFA standards. Not much longer now. #doop #fifa #worldcup #fifaworldcup

For as much hate as Bradley Carnell gets on social media by fans, or by the booing the last couple games at Subaru Park, nobody can take it away from him that he is doing his best to protect the players from the negativity from the teams 1-8-3 start. "I stand up there and assume responsibility first and foremost and move on. I want the guys to feed off of that, to let them play free and show the emotions on the field, show the passion and everything that drives them every single day and what drives us. I try to absorb a lot of the noise that’s going on outside. No one’s happy, no one’s content. No one is thinking that we’re just going to wait for the break. No, the next game is the next moment and the next three points on the line. We know we’ve had a heavy away stretch schedule, but we know that will get better. The next time to get better is your very next game." #doop

Going live in about 15 minutes with @ItsAToddLife on @FreeKickPod to talk about the New England match. Having just watched the replay… oh man, the momentum shift after the goal-line clearance on Alladoh’s shot was the KEY moment of the match.
