Just informed by our vet that my dog Raynor has an aggressive form of cancer. We'll know more when we pick her up later this afternoon, but it's not looking great. If you've followed me at all over the last 8 years, you'll know how close her and I are. Feel very unready for this.

@scottjohnson @corepod That was a good video. It does bring up a larger point of video game preservation. A lot of digital only games from the ps3/Xbox 360 era are going to be lost, especially as older digital store fronts shut down.

@CineplexMovies decides to make it cheaper for people to buy paper tickets which people will just throw in the garbage after the show anyway.

The new $1.50 online booking fee from @CineplexMovies is a terrible idea. It will drive people away from the app & force people to buy paper tickets in person. When many companies are banning plastic bags & straws

@scottjohnson Yeah, gameplay is very solid, but then the micro transactions don’t just creep in, they bust through the wall like the kool aid man and demand you buy stuff

Feeling very torn on Diablo Immortal. On the one hand, clearly a team of writers, designers, artists and engineers went all out on a very polished game. Meanwhile, the business/payment end of things is borderline predatory by most mobile standards. It's so contrary to itself.

@scottjohnson Odama for the Gamecube. It combined pinball & RTS. Basically you moved your units across the battlefield (pinball table) while playing pinball & using the ball to destroy the enemy & obstacles. Not sure if you wanted a more traditional pinball game. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odama

Doing a little research for a show. Anyone have a favorite pinball VIDEO game? Think Devil's Crush, Sonic Spinball, Pinball Dreams, etc.

@NotPatrick Right? I don’t like any of the soulsborne style game either, but the sheer amount of neat perfect scores is giving me major FOMO. Hopefully by the time I finish Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring will be on sale. I don’t want to pay full price for a game I may not like.

I mean, I know Soulsborne games aren't for me, and I expect I won't love this one either, but... everyone, *EVERYONE* is saying it's a masterpiece. 97 on Metacritic so far. 97! You can't *not* play that. Especially if your job is to talk about games. Alright, on to the PS Store.
