Yet another suspended sentence for an animal abuser 😡! Kyle Lee Birchall, 37, a so-called dog and horse trainer and backyard breeder from Salford M5 was caught on camera forcefully kicking a dog twice and neglected several others. Birchall, operator of a business called the K9 Hydro Clinic Manchester, based at Nook Farm in Astley, Wigan, was prosecuted by the RSPCA for a catalogue of animal cruelty offences. The convicted drug dealer, who is believed to have family links to Salford-based organised crime group the 'A-Team', was caught on camera inflicting brutal violence on a dog in his care. Harrowing footage captured in May 2023 showed Birchall forcefully kicking the dog twice while he was hanging from a rope toy attached to a wall – causing the animal to release his grip and retreat. A vet who reviewed the video told the court the dog would have suffered pain during the incident and may also have experienced longer-term emotional distress. Further concerns were identified during multiple visits to Birchall’s business premises in Astley, where a number of dogs linked to him were being kept. A Tibetan mastiff-type dog named Simba was found suffering from painful eye conditions, chronic skin disease and severe matting. A vet who examined Simba confirmed these conditions would have caused ongoing discomfort and had been present for a prolonged period without appropriate treatment. Three pocket bulldogs – Bubbles, Skye and Gigi – were later removed from the same farm in July 2024 after being found in poor conditions. They were suffering from untreated eye disease, while Gigi also had chronically infected ears and Skye required emergency surgery for a serious uterine infection. The dogs were kept in a poor environment lacking proper bedding, clean water and hygiene. Birchall pleaded guilty to five offences under the Animal Welfare Act 2006. In mitigation, the court heard that he had experienced personal difficulties, including “physical health and mental issues”. He has apparently reduced the number of dogs in his care since the offences. In sentencing remarks, magistrates raised concerns about the risk of reoffending, particularly in relation to Birchall’s ability to properly care for animals, yet saw fit to ban him for just five years and only in relation to dogs. Speaking after the case, RSPCA Inspector Rachel Whalley said: “This case involved multiple animals suffering over a sustained period due to a failure to provide basic care and veterinary treatment. “All animals deserve to be properly cared for and protected from pain, suffering and distress. We urge anyone who is struggling to care for their pets to seek help at an early stage.” Sentencing | eight-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months; 19 days of ‘rehab’; £154 victim surcharge and court costs of £400. This sweet Great Pyrenees is in need of a home for his last 2-4 years of life. He’s in Hilton, NY (Monroe County near Rochester, NY) This is a 9 year old male pure bred Pyr, an emotional support therapy dog who is healthy, fully vetted & neutered. His owner moved to an apartment complex living and the door was open. He did what Great Pyrenees do and guarded.. reacted to a stranger walking near his (open) door leading to a bite. No skin was broken. But the owner has ten days to get rid of him, according to apartment complex. This was a human mistake leading to this unfortunate situation. A shelter will euthanize him at his age and now a bite. Please share. Looking for a stable home with breed experience, fenced yard to help him live out his remaining years of life and not be dumped into a kill shelter. In 1998, a 13-year-old girl was abducted and raped at knifepoint in Alicante, Spain. The rapist, 63-year old Antonio Cosme, was sentenced to 9 years in jail. 7 years later, in 2005, the victim's mother, María del Carmen García, was waiting at a bus stop when she saw a man approaching. "How's your daughter doing?" the man asked with a smirk on his face. It was her daughter's rapist. Antonio was out on day release. Enraged by what had just happened, Maria ran to the nearest store, purchased 1.5 litres of gasoline, and walked into the bar that Antonio had just entered. She doused him head-to-toe with gasoline, lit him up, and stood back and calmly watched as her daughter's rapist burned alive in front of her eyes. Maria was sentenced to 9.5 years in jail for her act of revenge, but was released in 2018 after serving 5.5 years. Today, she lives freely in Spain after being reunited with her daughter.
