Frenkie injured, Fermín will only just be coming back from a very serious injury, and 10 of our players (8 from Spain, Gordon from England, and Koundé from France) played until the final day of the World Cup and will potentially return late to preseason.
I have a feeling this is going to cause us a lot of physical issues at the start of the season.

This is the best time to let him go if this is true.
We can’t keep someone that doesn’t want to play when the stakes are high because he wants to play for Netherlands that won’t make it past Round of 32.

I’m very split on the Frenkie de Jong situation. We need more details, but I’m not sure we’ll get to the truth any time soon.
-did he actually refuse to play the CL Quarters? (I highly doubt it)
-did he force himself in the world cup despite medical advice? (Probable)
Without knowing the nuances of both situations, it’s hard to draw definitive conclusions. That said, based on the images, it’s highly likely that he played injured, and I think it’s completely fair that the club is annoyed about it.
Another thing: I’ve seen people claim that this smells like a smear campaign from the club itself, I just think there’s no way. If they didn’t force Araujo out, and still refuse to do so, why would they do so for Frenkie?
Beyond that, there’s nothing you can do now. Even if the club wanted him out, who is buying a near-30 year-old with a long term injury, not least given his long track record of major injuries?

@NealGardner_ I’ve been advocating for his sale from last summer and everyone was in their feelings. Now he’s injured again, to come back play a few “good” matches to get injured again when the club can’t sell him.

@sidlowe That’s tricky…. Cause the bronze match is part of the tournament but teams don’t take it seriously. So a player can “stat pad” in this match as players just don’t really care.
