At a time when the NHS is stretched to breaking point… waiting lists are soaring and staff are under constant pressure. And yet this is where the money is going. In most countries, if you need a translator for healthcare, you pay for it yourself. Here? The taxpayer picks up the bill. And in 2026, we all carry devices in our pockets that can translate instantly, for free. So why are we spending £660,000 on this?
