@cjasonmaier @DSBatten @EENewsUpdates I am also understandably hesitant about crypto. I am a Bitcoin maximalist. The more we conflate these terms the more we prevent understanding of Bitcoin. This is the hard path. This is the way.

No @EENewsUpdates, the Biden administration were not "understandably hesitant" about Bitcoin. They allowed the debanking of legitimate, publicly traded Bitcoin mining companies They illegally demanded confidential data, with a 10K penalty per day for non-compliance They gaslit Bitcoin for four years straight using a range of different attack vectors, none of which were anchored in data, or science They proposed a 30% tax based a spurious and now debunked environmental impact report They created an environment where Mining companies main conversations were with regulators, and they faced existential threat on an almost daily basis. The Trump administration didn't have do to much to create a more condusive environment for Bitcoin and Bitcoin mining, they just needed to stop vilifying it. If you want to know why they have gone further than this, it is because the extreme attack for 4 years straight helped mobilize and unite Bitcoin voters into a powerful voting force, that is now here for good. There are 50 Million of them. Their values are evently distributed across the political spectrum with a slight bias to "extreme liberal" (source: the Nakamoto Project). Many of them have become single issue voters. And they voted against the Democrats by a 24% margin in the last election as a result of four years of attack, which single handedly cost the Democratic party the presidency.

With trillions in outstanding commercial real estate loans the official end of the BTFP could be trouble. BTFP loans were a liquidity source for banks, credit unions and other financial institutions that as of today has completely dried up. The last Bank Term Lending Program loans given out on March 11,2024 had to be paid back by today. (They had one year to pay off the loans)

I worry about modern cars due to centralization of control. When car manufacturers can stream tons of sensor data, push software updates, and the cars can drive themselves, what's preventing a bad actor from reprogramming millions of cars into kamikaze drones?
