@Paydirt_DFS There is 0 chance I'd let a pitcher challenge anything. And probably only like my 3 best hitters on offense. Catchers get more leeway

Yeah I mostly think that the ABS challenge will give us some serious highlight worthy misses by both umpires and players. Umps will miss one right down the dick and get obliterated for it. Hitters will challenge something 5 inches outside and have the same laugh reel.

@Paydirt_DFS And to add players probably won't win as many challenges as we think. The one thing this will highlight is the absolute worst umpires who consistently miss calls.

My hot take is that the ABS system is going to show that Umpires actually do a really good job most of the time and in the instances of a challenge it'll show just how thin the margins really are. There will be some embarrassments but not as much as people think.

@toomuchtuma The only FAAB leagues I play are 12 team leagues. IMO when looking at just league standings (no overall component) for 5x5 Roto saves are the category you can do the worst in and still win your league.

@Frew_Dorte @marc_winokur For clarity this was a 12-team league. NFBC 15 teams is a different beast entirely. At the same time that’s where closers are drafted earliest

@marc_winokur @toomuchtuma Also in a draft there is real opportunity cost. These guys are really talented no doubt, but to draft one or multiple you have to take them over a SP1 or really talented hitter

@FAmmiranteTFJ @SamulskiNYC Maybe he's different than strider, but I learned that one the hard way last year and wiling to let others take him. Strider even looked amazing in rehab and still flunked

My one regret this draft season: I didn't prioritize Zack Wheeler

@RobSilver One of the bigger draft shifts I've seen the last couple of years is everyone takes so many SP on bench. Even like 3 years ago feel benches leaned more hitter focused

@Frew_Dorte If Hoffman gets the last out or 20 other things happen that game a lot of things are different 😢

I think Jeff Hoffman will probably be ok in 2026 but he is the riskiest ‘good’ closer for fantasy (I don’t include Carlos Estevez) The leash is just very short - a bad first two weeks and it won’t be sustainable for him to pitch the 9th for a while IMO Again, I think he’s fine

@RobSilver I think Baltimore and Chicago are in the same ballpark of aspirations? And if Hoffman gets that final out (I know he didn't). It's a much different story this spring. I also found this article interesting and didn't go reported on much in fantasy sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/dr…
