Marlins Manager Clayton McCullough says Agustin Ramirez’ defense is the primary reason he was optioned. Will work on that in Jacksonville. His development will continue there at Catcher. No other positions mentioned. More later on pre-game.

The fact that they don't plan to play Agustin Ramirez at other positions is not great for his 2026 viability. If they're committed to using him at Catcher then that's his only path... and he's horrible at catching. I guess you're just hoping he comes back as a full time DH but that seems unlikely

Couple of news and notes: - Liam Hicks will be the starting catcher when facing left-handed pitching most likely, DH/1B vs RHP. - Agustín Ramirez will continue to catch in Jacksonville. No reps at any other positions yet #Marlins
