@MateoOstorero @TakedownMRAs @retardmode He said you're showing off that *you're* dumb, which you are. You're demonstrating you don't know what people are referring to when they describe "banned books" by saying "banned from schools doesn't count" when that's literally the entire criteria for a "banned book" in the US.

@retardmode "That book wasn't banned, you can still buy it, it's POPULAR!!!!" You can still buy every one of these books, "banned books" never meant you couldn't buy it or the law stopped its printing, it meant it was pulled from places like schools and libraries.

The phrase was "believe women," & it meant do the opposite of what is culturally ingrained, not "believe all women, reject evidence, & convict men anyway." It was a command to support women & challenge patriarchal conditioning, not be irrational & vindictive. And men know this.

@lesbianhedonic In my experience, people like this either think those men's oppressed status makes any critical view of their own actions oppressive/bigoted by default.

@FriendOfAstraea his line of thinking is almost entirely refuted by the simple truth that, for almost every highly oppressed man reduced by most to prey, he has a wife he predates on men in gaza are prey? and what of the women in gaza? poor black men in usa? what of the poor black women? etc

This argument could be applied to literally any marginalized category, yet almost never is. Do poor white men not experience privilege compared to poor black men, especially when it comes to say, the cops? How about black men living in the US compared to those in Gaza right now?
Luís Guilherme@lguipontes

@idkijustthibk Patriarchy does not really privilege all men. Most of us are prey for a significant part of our lives and some of us are prey for the entirety of it. If you try to make this about women when we will suffer for the benefit of other men would be Them behavior btw.

We don't. If you're interested in dating men, you need to drop the patriarchal scripts and see yourself as an equal participant, not wish constant unwanted, potentially dangerous attention on everyone else because you seek validation in being an object to be pursued.
꧁aleksa꧂@alasky__

Almost every woman over 30 I’ve spoken to in the past few years feels some version of the same thing: feminism has failed us somewhere along the way, and made men increasingly passive, hesitant, and unwilling to take initiative. How do we course-correct from here?

You'd have to be delusional to say that poor whites experience no advantage in interactions with the cops over that of poor black people, or to say that being oppressed in the US is identical to being in Gaza. And you are delusional if you think MOC aren't privileged.

Denying the privilege of everyone save the utmost top of society does not promote "unity," it only tries to paint over and deny a reality that does not stop affecting people simply because you ignore it.

@lguipontes @idkijustthibk "We don't all experience privilege identically or equally" does not translate to "This group doesn't have any privilege at all." Privilege and marginalization are not black-and-white, mutually exclusive categories, and there is no argument otherwise other than stubborn assertion.
