The decision on Kerala’s CM may have finally been taken, but what remains deeply unfortunate is the vicious, unfounded attack on Shri KC Venugopal. I have known him for nearly 30 years — right from his Youth Congress days — and in all that time, I have never seen a man more dedicated to the party than to himself. He has always put the organisation first, worked tirelessly without any expectation of personal reward, and conducted himself with a transparency that is genuinely rare in politics today. What makes it worse is that he has held positions of immense influence — and never once misused it for personal gain. That is not something you can say about many in public life. The attacks on him have been unwarranted, uncharitable, and completely false — driven not by facts but by blind admiration for someone else that led a few people to tear down a committed leader unfairly. Those who made these comments would do well to reflect on what they said. Knowing #KCVenugopal, I have no doubt he will take all of this in his stride. His commitment to the party is deep enough that he will endure this without any bitterness. That is the mark of a great leader. He will emerge from this stronger and taller. Of that, I am certain. 🙏
