1. Madueke has allowed Saka to rest from a couple of big physical issues he’s been going through through the season. We trust him to start in CL nights and big games. Liverpool, City x2, Bayern, Chelsea, Sporting x2, and many difficult mid table PL teams. 2. Even though his output has been less than expected (10 G/A, 0,45 G/A per 90), this is not far from Doku’s 0,55 G/A per 90 or Mbeumo’s 0,47. And he has been a constant threat all season. 3. Are we evaluating transfers now into short term delivery? Did Arsenal pay 48m (not 55) for what he was going to do in 25/26 and not for the next 5 seasons? 4. Despite the gap to Saka, I don’t think a Arsenal would be in the position we are in without Madueke.

A few people asked me to make an image of how much irrigated farmland would use the same water required for ALL ChatGPT usage, including every part of the process. I did a botec and my best guess right now is that inference uses about as much water as training, and power generation uses ~5x as much water as the data centers themselves, so it looks something like this. The water cost of manufacturing chips is marginal compared to how much water they use over their lifetimes.

I recently mentioned on a podcast that if you plot China's 40-year economic rise on a graph from 1980 to 2020, it is almost perfectly and positively correlated with Africa's population growth from 480 million in 1980 to 1.4 billion in 2020. Almost nobody who watched that podcast understood that I was trying to tell them that at least 1 billion Africans who draw breath on this continent today owe their existence to China. Without China acting as an economic and political counterbalance - especially after the Soviet Union collapsed - Africa would have been fully recolonised already, and Africans would have been a marginal presence in Africa by now. And the world wouldn't call it genocide. They'd just blame it on some imaginary African disease or genetic defect, and they'd build a small museum in Cape Town to remember the people that once lived here. Geopolitical and historical illiteracy is when you can't tell who is your predator and who is the entity taking most of the bullets that were meant for you.
