In speaking with numerous ICE sources today, most are expressing frustration that this will cause their arrest numbers to fall off a cliff while in effect. A large majority of their arrests involve vehicle stops. They will now largely have to rely on court arrests, detainer transfers, USCIS interviews, or “consensual encounters”/roving patrols on foot to make arrests in bigger numbers. ICE prefers to target people in their vehicles instead of their homes because homes require a judicial warrant to enter and vehicles are considered safer (someone can run into a home and grab a weapon etc) and targets can be followed to public areas where warrants aren’t required. In all the ICE embeds I’ve done over the years, I would say 90% + of the targets were arrested in vehicle stops, though, they were egregious aliens (murderers, rapists etc), and those vehicle stops are still allowed to continue for now. This will have a bigger impact on targets in the U.S. illegally who have committed no other crimes.

@AlbertBreer Also, I draw a distinction between betting on your team to win (/exceed Overs) and betting on losses/Unders for your team. Only the latter is "an existential threat". People may want binary black & white but things aren't that simple.

@AlbertBreer PFT's dissection of the NFL's dishonest hypocrisy is right on. They aren't following their own rules. To effectively punish Sorsby, they themselves are breaking rules. That is hypocrisy, straight up.

The one piece of the NFL’s argument I don’t really understand: The complaint that Sorsby applied for the supplemental draft on June 16, which only gave them “three business days” before the June 22 deadline to consider it … So the deadline wasn’t the actual deadline?

Comp update: Kirk Cousins will sign a five-year, $172 million deal with the Raiders that in reality is a one-year, fully-guaranteed $20 million deal that also contains a club option for two years at $80M. The Falcons will pay Cousins $8.7 million this season, the Raiders another $1.3 million and Las Vegas also agreed to pay its new QB a fully-guaranteed $10 million roster bonus on the third day of the 2027 new league year. @AlbertBreer Regarding playoff seeding, I want division winners to host a game or else get rid of divisions. By adding more games to the schedule, hasn't the league increased how many games don't matter at the end of year? The owners are the ones who exacerbated that problem.
