Canvassing this weekend in Woodford this was not the impression residents gave, they were angry about the misleading polls that were put out.
Residents were also excited by the new Labour government. People are looking forward not back.

Exactly. This local campaign was the most toxic I’ve ever witnessed. Lies, bullying and intimidation all on the doorstep- from Labour. They’ve turned away thousands of voters from them… a winnable seat will be lost to them for years to come. Shameful.

The Progress flag represents the highly contested view that people, including children, can change their sex.
I disagree with that view.

It’s quite interesting that there his been a wave of support for parties outside of the conservatives and Labour. A wave of Green Party in the east. Some reform dotted around and some great independents.

We could’ve had an superb YIMBY Labour MP who understands housing economics and was brave and bold as a councillor, making the case for urban densification. But this egotist ran and split the vote.

A few people have been in touch asking how IDS still got 17k+ voters in CWG. Have to remember he’s been here a long time so has a history with many people, plus good at taking credit for local community wins. However, one extra thing was using the Labour candidate’s record to scare possible Labour and Reform switchers into sticking with the Tories. Here’s an example ad run locally. The threat of overdevelopment has been a long time strategy of the Tories here, Labour walked straight into it by not doing their research
