To every student and young person who stood up on university campuses against what are now officially deemed war crimes: you are heroes and your persecutors are trash.

@FromPhDtoLife Now I'm thinking for working as an independent researcher and publish some papers. And when I'm of a sound mind and emotions are at a better space, and am at more at peace with myself. I will start afresh at a new uni. Until then,I will rest and recharge. I neee that. 💜(4/4)

Needed to see this, hear this. Everytime ppl tell me "why are you quitting when you're almost done. And just need to take one more step ahead!" No, bro. My mental and emotional wellbeing comes first.
Jennifer Polk, PhD (she, her)@FromPhDtoLife

It's okay to make the best choice for your mental health, well-being, and future. And if this means leaving your PhD program, I want you to know it's OK to quit. It's OK not to pursue an academic career. This is not failure, it's taking care of yourself.

@CrescentMoon08 I'm so sorry! Students are a vulnerable group, in the context of universities. And there are endless other ways to spend your time, learn and do cool things, and earn a few bucks while investing energy toward a better future!!

@FromPhDtoLife they don't understand how life at academia doesn't just depend on an individual's efforts but also the type of advisor/supervisor they have. and i just am not an lucky one on this matter. my supervisor doesn't even coordinate w me well on the simplest of task. 😅😅🥲🥲
