Yes, so this variation is much safer than a standard bench press. The smith machine gives stability as well as an easy exit so you don’t need a spotter. The range of motion is limited so if your shoulder hasn’t regained all it’s mobility it’s a good way to reintroduce movement with whatever weight you feel comfortable doing. Im still healing from an injury myself and after dips I felt really mentally fatigued so I opted for this exercise. It’s great how we can still get in work despite our limitations 🦾
