Reminder, home prices only rise at the pace of inflation and interest rates falling. Homes are CURRENTLY priced at 2.7% mortgage rates. Meaning, homes are 40% overpriced at 6.7% mortgage rates.

@4nt1p4tt3rn The fixer upper era of homes doesn't exist like it used to. Once flipping homes became popular a lot were bought up by investors, given a quick rehab and flipped or turned into rentals. Traditional starter homes are few and far between these days

If you're looking at "starter homes" that don't require a significant amount of work to be livable, you're not looking at starter homes.

Thinking 7% is a high rate is simply recency bias. Go look at mortgage rates from 1970 - 2000. People may drop prices to sell faster, sure.

The housing market is giving every single imaginable signal that it is on the brink of collapse and people will still deny the obvious because their egos won’t let them accept that reality. The crash it’s coming whether they like it or not. Waiting to buy will save you $100k +
