A new PNAS paper says the people around you may literally accelerate your biological aging. Each additional “hassler” in your social network was linked to: • 1.5% faster epigenetic aging • ~9 months older biological age • higher inflammation • worse physical + mental health Choose your circle carefully. Paper: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Look at USA, their commentators call their President a liar and a buffoon several times in a conversation. Eg: Jeffrey Sachs Look at India, even most anti govt commentators don't dare to call the PM a liar. A nation crippled by fear Eg: Kapil Sibal

I’ve lived in Bangkok for 300 years. I can easily converse in Thai with servicemen but when they speak with each other I have no idea what they’re saying. It’s usually tough to decipher when they speak some Khmer or southern accent.

Every time I check my blood-pressure, it surely surges up, because of the pressure of checking. I wonder if there's a lesson--or a metaphor at least--in that?

There were many reasons for opposing the Delimitation Bill. Two have been widely discussed. It was a cynical move to link women’s reservation which is now non controversial with a dodgy delimitation scheme. And the South was dismayed by a bill that gave more seats to the Hindi belt . But there was another concern. Most Indians have become disillusioned with politicians and with the electoral process where each individual election involves spending hundreds of crores raised from businessmen through bribes and favour granting. They are as fed up of the crores spent on corrupting MPs to switch sides. They also see less & less public benefit in parliament where biased presiding officers shut up anyone who is doing the job that MPs are supposed to do: raising issues of public importance & questioning the government . Nor do they think the tax payer gets any value from most MPs who live off public funds & do little to help ordinary Indians The new bill would have created hundreds of new MPs & involved thousands of crores of expenditure both officially & in black money. People just did not see the point in creating more MPs. If the government wants to add hundreds of MPs then it should at least let parliament function effectively & fairly Because people are fed up of a chamber that serves no purpose other than to rubber stamp executive decisions, make politicians rich, increase corruption & waste public funds. This is not how the Constitution envisaged the role of parliament

studying the brain to find the origin of consciousness is like opening up an old radio to look for the source of the music. all you’ll find is the circuitry designed to tune into its signal. it cannot generate the music itself.
All day Astronomy@forallcurious

🚨: A neuroscientist analyzed 100 years of brain research and found NO evidence of where consciousness is located in the brain This indicates that the theories saying that consciousness is directly connected to the universe itself are important!

I think the delimitation bill is too complex for Indians. I haven't seen any journalist explain it clearly. Why are they calling it women's reservation bill?

"Security guard life in India." 💔 Poor guard is covered under a mosquito net and doing his duty while awake at night. Society members live in AC; cannot they provide a safe place for their guard? The real issue is compassion. People have lost their compassion for the poor.

I don't understand why the entire wealth & money mgt industry is unable to understand why FIIs are exiting. They are exiting because SIP money is entering. Selling equals Buying. Stop/reduce SIPs, F2 exits will automatically & effortlessly decrease. Na rahega (bamboo ) baans, na bajegi bansuri . (Even in Utopia, you can't have SIP + F2s both buying together. Somebody 's gotta sell for them to buy. Comprendi?)

The perfect day to re-read what I wrote a while ago. The article that esteemed @iRadhikaGupta then alluded to, calling it " click bait". Reality is: What's happened last 2 years is the largest wealth transfer in the history of wealth transfers. With the active connivance of Wealth/ asset managers, F:&O brokers, finfluencers, fin media. The narrative from every Lallu panju was " This time it's different". After 44 years of doing this, baccha party, lemme tell you: It's never different. Only the ones who lose, are change each time. In our time, we made the gora F2s lose to us Roadless Locals. But this time, the F2s have won at the expense of Roadless Locals. And that's creating a giant macro crisis. Read. Reflect. Rotate "How India created a generation of brainwashed investors. And the macro disaster this has created" moneycontrol.com/news/opinion/h…
