I want players who have played this week in the Scottish - Niemann was the one exception who has at least been playing a lot in Europe the last few weeks so not quite as concerned (surprised he didn't play though).

Have had Rahm in mind for this one for a while - generally prefer longer iron fests for him but his links record is fantastic, admittedly more so a few years ago. Number got too good on the Exchange he's far better than 30/1.

@Tgarratt10 100%. The 2018 team really was not that good on paper at all. 2020/2022 the two at our best and a finals appearance and we did well. Also - Kane has looked exhausted from club form in previous tournaments, and Jude in the last tournament - I don't think that is Gareth related

The Italy final is bang on, I think a Tuchel gets us over the line in that. But the France game is such a myth it was Southgate’s fault. His sub (Mount) won us the 2nd penalty almost immediately after coming on & we were the better side for most the game, Kane missing wasn’t down to the manager. Also with Croatia, we missed big chances to go 2 up and then IMO their superior midfield were too good for us. Surely we can be hopeful Tuchel gets us over the line without bashing what Southgate did for the country.

This comes up every four years and I have some actual insight to this very phenomenon. In 2016, I profiled Josh Norman for ESPN the Mag. He was — at the time — inarguably one of the best corners in the NFL. He got invited by Zlatan to come watch a PSG game, so I tagged along as he went to Paris. We got to watch training a few days before the game, and at the end of training (practice for you Americans) the PSG guys invited Josh to jump in and play a bit. Josh was an elite NFL corner and a huge soccer fan. He’d played some soccer as a kid too so he wasn’t just a novice. It was comical how much the PSG guys had to slow things down to make it fun for him. It was like the scene in Friday Night Lights (the TV show) where the Panthers goof around and pretend to tackle little kids. That’s how elementary they had to make it. The tried to feed Josh to “score” a goal and it was almost condescending how much they had to pretend it was real soccer. Afterwards, someone handed us an American football. In one of the most surreal experiences of my life, I spent 15 mins throwing passes to PSG players. It was equally comical. Honestly I’ve seen something as ridiculous as David Luiz trying to catch an American Football. It didn’t just bounce off his hands, it *exploded* off his hands. At some point, the skills do not translate. You would need to live it from a young age. Americans love to tell themselves they could be good at soccer if they only cared. Maybe they’d be better if they started young enough, but I’m not convinced it would be 6-3 WRs and there is no chance it would be LeBron or Kobe or anyone 6-8; there is a reason the best soccer players world wide are mostly under 6 feet. Either way, plugging “athletes” in and arrogantly assuming they’d thrive at soccer would never ever work.

@DuBoseDefense @FrankieQuigs There is a really clear difference of having to control your ball at your feet at the same time whilst running extremely fast, and not just sprint routes then catch it?

@FrankieQuigs You totally misunderstand the insane body control it takes to be an NFL football player. And you wrongly believe soccer has some mystical quality that makes it different. Jammar Chase could be "Mbappe" but bigger. If he had played soccer from birth.

Every four years we take the best 11 athletes in every other country and put them up against the 4000th best athletes in America, and see if we can win. It's a crazy exercise.

Wyndham & Reitan have had in mind for this for the last couple of weeks. Both seem perfect for what you need here in terms of driver/putting/par 5 scoring whilst also spiking on approach recently. Nicolai was all over earlier in the year and seems to be getting back to that peak again - him and TK I'd be fuming if I missed out on so going to keep riding them.
