Here’s the NHS guidance on LFTs. They’re for asymptomatic testing. If you have symptoms, you need to book a PCR test.

Please *don’t* do what Sajid Javid describes here.
LFTs are for those without symptoms, as the NHS website clearly states.
A negative LFT does *not* rule out Covid.
If you have Covid symptoms, book a PCR test & self-isolate until the result is back 🙏

This morning I tested positive for Covid. I’m waiting for my PCR result, but thankfully I have had my jabs and symptoms are mild. Please make sure you come forward for your vaccine if you haven’t already.
